Cesar's schtick is based on controlling overly aggressive dogs. Again, read a book by Dr. Ian Dunbar, or do some research on the difference between his and Cesar's methods.

I don't necessarily think one is "wrong" and one is "right", they are just different. One is developed by a guy who is a vet and has a degree in animal behaviour and over 20 years of research experience. The other is from a guy that was raised on a farm. There is no question Cesar can read an animal, but he says flat out that he is not an animal trainer. In one episode where the LA Fire department was trying to teach their dalmation something, Cesar brought in an animal trainer to do it, and that trainer used Dunbar's methods.

Congrats on the pup! I recommend a book by John and Amy Dahl called "The 10-Minute Retriever". It's aimed at training gun dogs (which labs should be!), but has lots of good info even if you don't hunt your dog. Do your research on spay and nueter...and when it should be done and why. Good luck and rest up...I just got a new pup two weeks ago, a wire-haired pointing griffon...and I haven't slept through a whole night since!

Indeed I do. Way to go - glad to see he is so happy!

Kim, and all the staff there, are just the most amazing people. Truly wonderful work. I always give her the highest recommendation when I know someone is looking for a new furry friend.

I can't remember where he was found (somewhere south of the city) but he entered a house by the dog door last Christmas and lined up with the other dog members of the family waiting for dinner!! He was taken to Heaven Can Wait and held in case an owner came forward. Sadly no-one did. He is a great dog - Kim gave him good food and lots of love and now he has a wonderful home with Russic. Could be a great book, indeed!

That story on the Heaven Can Wait website about that dog Ross is awesome. Sounds like a great organization and kudos to you for volunteering there.

Gosh. I haven't read that story for a while. It always makes me cry. But it does show what an amazing woman Kim is.
