Does anyone associate Jazz with Salt Lake City?

Yeah they should switch to the "Utah Bigamists" shortened down to the " Utah Bigs" so their fanbase can relate.

Is this a serious question? Based on what you quoted, it looks as though 604Flames' statement would have answered that - The Jazz were originally from New Orleans.

Speaking of NO, after seeing them lose today to Denver, I really can't see them winning again. 121-63, Game 5 at The Pepsi Centre and Chris Paul playing poorly this series, in spite of the numbers. Trading for Chauncey was the best thing the Nuggets have done since drafting Melo.

GO LAKERS!!

They spent the first five years of their existence in New Orleans, and moved to Salt Lake in 1979. I would have to dig for the exact quote, but the reasoning behind the lack of name change is that many people within both the organization and the NBA community felt the team wouldn't be around long enough to warrant the effort involved in changing the name.

Lakers dispose of Utah last night. I'm a big fan of Jerry Sloan and it hurts me to watch him age game after game, this series. My advice: Let Boozer go. No need to try and sign him again.

Tonight's game of HOU/POR, with the Rockets looking to close is what I'm really interested in.

I had a fair chunk of money riding on the Lakers winning their game by 5 or more because I parlayed that with a Flames loss (Odds were too good not to make that bet). I flipped over and LA is up 20....next thing I knew it was like 6. Thankfully for me the Lakers were able to push them aside in the last 3 minutes pretty easily. Only watched a bit of the game but Lamar Odem was shooting really well in the first half.

121-63 though...that has to be one of the biggest playoff blow outs of all time. Thats a good old route if I've ever seen one.

The 58-point win was tied for the largest playoff winning margin ever.

Unbelievably disappointing for Hornets fans.

Luckily, I'm a Cavs fan, and they probably won't lose a game until June.

I think everyone knows that - why would SLC keep the Jazz name? SLC is the "whitest" city in the world. Not a jazz hot-bed.

The most embarassing fact was that it was at home too. They got murdered right on their own court. That was pretty surprising to me given that Chris Paul and Byron Scott are two proud, character individuals.. I'm surprised they'd let that happen. Granted, Denver is pretty good.. but still.

Anyways it almost seems inevitable that we'll see a Kobe vs. LBJ showdown in the finals. Here's hoping somebody can throw a wrench into that (although that would be quite the battle).

Game 6 of the Bulls/Celtics series goes to triple OT - final score 128/127 for the Bulls.

Back to Boston for Game 7!

This Chicago-Boston series is great. Tied 3-3. Two of the games were decided in OT, one in doule OT and then today's in triple OT.

And as a hardly casual basketball fan, Boston and Chicago are both interesting teams. I don't think I could get into a Golden State or Portland type series.

Yeah this series has been amazing. 4 of the 6 games were in OT and 1 was decided by 1 shot. Only 1 game that was not close in the series. I see Boston winning game 7 and Paul Pierce and Ray Allen having huge games but good for the Bulls to push it to a game 7.

That's exactly how I see this playing out too. Funny that the Celtics have such issues in the first round (IIRC, Atlanta took them to 7 in the first round last year too). Too bad they don't have KG in the lineup... I think they'll get steamrolled by Cleveland eventually.

Regardless, great for the Bulls. Derrick Rose is showing is why he went #1 overall... amazing playoff debut.

Chicago and Boston Game 7 tonight. Should be a dandy.

Denver and Dallas begin Round 2 tomorrow afternoon after ATL/MIA's Game 7.

Lakers in 5. The other series don't really matter to me, Boston should get another handful with Orlando, and The Cavs will win theres easily.

Right now im just sitting and waiting for the Finals, and who the Lakers will beat down to win the title.

Bulls are falling apart....only have a 6 point lead now.

This last couple of minutes can't go any faster for them.

Big game for Dwight Howard tonight with 16 and 22 - But allowing Boston to get 28 points in the 4th quarter after leading by 16 after 3 makes you wonder if the Stan Van Gundy allegations of being a panicked coach are true.

I really don't believe that Cleveland will walk all over Atlanta like some people think. Mike Bibby is a vet and can play some defense. Mo Williams shouldn't be able to drive by him every possession. It's tough to say how Atlanta will handle Lebron. Al Horford and Marvin Williams are both banged up and having either out of the line-up will hurt. I'm interested in Game 1 tomorrow.
