I find that their prices in Calgary are about in line with comparable places.

Cora's has pretty good food, especially if you are looking for breakfast. Wherever you decide to go, you might want to call in advance. Some places will be closed on Good Friday.

Cheaper certainly. Better is all subjective.

A few girlfriends and I are going out for brunch/lunch on Good Friday at around noon. So I need something that is fairly central or North. I'm hoping for a menu that would include both breakfasty-ish(new word, just made it up) and lunchy so everyones tastes are covered. (example: last time we did Moxie's in Market mall and it was OK.)

Thanks in advance for any ideas!
Dinner Deluxe on Edmonton trail, as mentioned previously is excellent....at least it was last time i was there..

Depends on personal taste of course.

To my experience, they're cheaper and better for Dim Sum, but for dinner, I'll take Central Grand any day of the week.

What's the attraction of dim sum? Just seems like a bunch of shrimp and octopus dishes.

What oil? It's steamed.

Sure, but I don't eat crap like ginger beef or battered shrimp with mayo. I can't eat "white" food anymore - too bland - aside from Caesars.

I will recommend Diner Deluxe again. It blows Cora's away. They're not even in the same league. Just make sure to get there early as it's quite busy.

If it weren't for the service, I would agree with you. However, there are times where I have had horrible service at Diner Deluxe. The wait to get it is also horrendous at peak times (although Friday should be fine). Cora's has consistently good service, and the wait is reasonable even during peak times.

Also, Diner Deluxe doesn't manage their email list carefully. I've received spam as a direct result from being on their mailing list.
