And at least in Alberta you are very likely to run into hockey players/coaches/broadcasters there. I've seen my share there.

I've always loved Smugglers Inn on MacLeod South.
Great steaks, prime rib, nice atmosphere.
I could eat their steak soup all day (probably not very good for you though)

Love Smugglers. Nothing quite like sitting in those big ass throne-chairs and chowing an owner's cut prime rib and washing it down with a bottle of red.
But if I had to choose one restaurant, I'd probably have to take Boccavino's to my desert island.

They should've named it Pho Sho instead of Pho So. Then when people suggest Vietnamese noodles, you can say "Yeah, Pho'Sho!"

That's my choice. When I moved to Calgary, I was pretty suspicious of seafood, which turned out to be pretty well founded. That said, Towa is a wonderful exception. I miss Towa, especially since I have yet to find good sushi here in Brisbane.

To be honest the first place I go when I'm in town (or anywhere in Canada for that matter) is Swiss Chalet.
I actually can't think of any places that really stand out in Calgary, I've had some good meals, but nothing extraordinary.
