Ive heard of eharmony, but just like with all the other dating sites - its expensive and im not willing to pay $20/month per site just to use it.

I've tried a few sites, had some success, but am still single. There are lots of speed dating places in Calgary, you just have to google them.

I know some of my cousins have gotten married through social networks like lavalife. So yeah, I don't doubt the success of these sites.
Best thing to do is go to a coffee shop and read a book there. Seriously, it's pretty effective. I've approached a few ladies at coffee shops. Starbucks gives me the best success rate.

Depending on how long your relationship lasted, MissKat, I might recommend you avoid dating websites for a while. Especially a place like Plentyoffish where all the crazies you will encounter will make your ex look good in comparison. If all you are looking for is a rebound relationship, just go to a bar and find a decent looking drunk guy.
Be yourself for a while. Get involved with something like the Calgary Sport and Social Club or other community associations and just look to meet people for a while.

Solid advice. It's all about getting out and enjoying the things YOU like. Eventually you'll run into someone and you'll have something in common with them right off the bat.

Lavalife seems fine for men - if you can figure out how to date women contacting you from Eastern Europe.
