Actually, its because they're being converted over to Nevada Bob's within a Sport Chek stores.

Oh, and the reason why the Sport Chek is closing at Deerfoot mall is because it is being converted into a Hockey Experts store, so watch for it in the future!

I bought a pair of roller hockey skates that said were marked down 20% 2 weeks ago to $127. I bought them and went on sportchek website at home and they were the same price on the website as they were maked down 20% in the store.

I was in sportsmart yesterday and they had Nike Bauer VR's for $120, they were listed at over $150 at sportchek with the supposed 20% discount.

I really don't want to drive all the way back up there since I live in the deep south, but that's just a warning for everyone else. If you're going there for something specific, check the price on the website first before you buy.

I was also kind of irked by the fact that all the employees just hang around in groups and talk amongst themselves while the bloody apocalypse is taking place in their store. When the cashier asked me if anyone helped me today, I said "I looking at roller hockey skates for half an hour and no one so much as uttered a word to me except when your manager told me to stop skating around the isles of the store."

Deerfoot Mall is going to get torn down within two years of Crossiron Mills opening. Deerfoot's biggest draw was out of town customers, who will no longer have any reason to enter city limits.

And I think a new Sport Chek is going in at the new Crossiron Mills mall.

I seem to be remember that place being shut down due to a mouse infestation problem. Mice running around in the dinning area while people were eating.

Yeah Bertuzzied mentioned that :<

I haven't been there in about a year so it's depressing.

Not to surprised however, most restaurants are filthy.

I would go there to check out a snowboard helmet but honestly, that place is too depressing for me to even set foot into! Going to that mall would make me depressed. Decaying malls depress me more than most things in the world.

Honestly, I think once Cross Iron Mills is up and running, Deerfoot mall is probably going into the crapper big time.

I think that is part of the job description at Sportchek. That sounds like exactly what I see at the one in Red Deer every time I go in there. Groups of teenagers wearing black and white stripped shirts standing in groups talking. At one time you could blame that on the man power shortage. Now I think these stores that want to keep afloat need to cut the dead weight and hire some decent employees.

I dunno about that, turning it from a mall into some sort of gangland thunderdome isnt much of an improvement, but that stupid thing is just down the hill from where I live and it royally screws up traffic for a huge radius in every direction.

That and I hate malls everywhere.

Dude, you're thinking of Deerfoot Meadows. Deerfoot Mall is up by 64th N.
