Interesting to see that Bill Gates funded this project in an effort to combat malaria.

Makes me feel better about paying for my Windows license.

Yeah, he's a big time philanthropist now.

Even before he got started full time, he gave a much higher percentage of his income to charity and public works than most other millionaires and billionaires. Much MUCH higher. Like 10% compared to 1% kind of thing.

And he did it all very quietly without bragging about it.

As much as his programs frustrate me and some of is business practices have been shady, at least he's put all that money to good use. I turned around big time in my feelings about him after reading that article years ago.

Like my opinion means anything, but you know what I mean.

Then Humans makes Cylons, and the cycle continues.

i am sure it will have effects on the food chain, lets just hope its not too severe. the birds and bats that normally feed on the mosquitos will suddenly need to eat more of the other bugs they eat, which will decrease those bugs populations. and if the birds and bats aren't able to sustain themselves they will dwindle in numbers. hopefully some sort of equilibrium can be reached before anything serious happens.
