Diagnosis time for anything covered by warranty is paid by Mazda. If you brought the car in claiming a problem but they couldnt find it or generate the symptom than you might be on the hook. But to pay for warranty time is garbage. Chances are the mechanic took way too long, and because warranty time pays less than customer pay time they tried to pull a fast one.

I ask him how much they're charging me for the tire rotation and he told me either $20 or $40 (can't remember). So I said that I'd do it myself. Then he tells me that unless Heninger does ALL my service work, I lose my free oil changes.
So yeah, I'm not allowed to rotate my own tires. And I just got a new compressor that I'm dying to use!!

I bought a car from them last year and I am coming up on my second oil change. I do not recall any fine print like that on the paper they had me sign, but I do have it at home and will check that out. My dad mentioned that this could possibly be the catch when I bought it.
I have not had any bad experiences with Heninger, and heard about many bad experiences with Country Hills and Charles Glen... but I guess there are always people who have had bad experiences with dealerships. :/

The standard warranty expired four months ago. The work I wrote about in my previous post has all been in the last month. I haven't paid anything for parts or diagnosis.

Where did you get the compressor from? I just picked one up from Costco. Sweet little number and a ton of tools came with it.
They honestly wouldn't be able to tell if you rotated your own tires, would they?

I've had nothing but great service from Ranchland Ford here in High River. No trying to upsell you other things when your in for an oil change. Any warranty issues i had were delt with in a satisfactory manner.

That will be $6000 please.

It sounds like they dont want you messing around with your car then claiming warranty on it. If you are getting free oil changes it is most likely still under warranty. Most warranty's are void unless done by an approved (dealership) mechanic.
they didnt say he has to get this done now, they said if he gets it done it has to be by them.

Guys please don't include Calgarypuck in any dispute you have with businesses. Someone posted an email where they refer to Calgarypuck...this has nothing to do with Calgarypuck and by sending that email to the company this site could now face big problems. You do not speak for this site or the owner of the site - please don't put cp in such dangerous positions.

Sorry... but I don't understand why CalgaryPuck could now face big problems. CalgaryPuck is not responsible for what its members post about a business (negative or positive)
By the way, I just got an e-mail back from the owner of Kramer Mazda and he wants to contact MJM (I've sent a copy of the e-mail, via pm, to MJM so he can respond to the owner)

So you mean to say that we shouldnt say "We read on CP that many people have these problems?"
Sigh ... the whole liability and litigation has gone so far out of control in this world. So many personal freedoms and experiences are simply prohibited because someone, somewhere, could be liable.

That is debatable and frankly its not your position to assume any risk for the site. We are responsible for what is posted here and many sites have been sued for what members have posted. Your email implied that Calgarypuck is somehow involved in this dispute - it is not. Please leave us out of it.

Yeah, I was just clarifying what you meant.
If everyone wouldnt sue everyone for every little thing, the world would be such a better place.

The thing that really bugs me about this is the fact that forums like this one are the best/most effective way for an individual to make his/her story heard. If web owners get sued because someone expressed dissatisfaction over service they recieved, I think that if f'in rediculous.
Isn't there something in the right to free speach that would take care of this? It's not like the site was specifically created to slander a dealership or anyone else for that matter.

I've been using Kramer for about 4 years now, never had an issue with them.
But in the past 2 months I've heard 4+ stories like this ranging from their service to their sales departments. It's gotten to the point where I don't recommend them as a dealer any more. Not sure what's going on there since they used to be one of the better run dealers in the city.

Back to Kramer Mazda...
My wife leased a brand new CX-7 from them two years ago. Great vehicle, no problems so far except...the in dash GPS apparently cannot be updated. I have had many discussions with them whenever we bring in the vehicle for oil changes etc...but they keep telling us there is no way to update the maps she has. These maps are at least two years old and many times we have had to look at an actual map because her GPS shows that we are out in the middle of a grey nowhere land.

Threads like this are iffy but usually fine. Sending an email to the business which implies CP is involved in the dispute, or somehow using CP as a means to threaten the business is not.
Perhaps there is a case to be made that its about free speech but are you willing to put up the legal costs to fight that battle?

Typically, you can get most GPS map updates on bittorrent, you just have to burn them to a CD and your drive should work with the GPS to update it.
Of course, I only know for a fact this work on Lexus', not necessarily a Mazda

Yup. Aside from this little thing, I've had great service from Heninger. And if indeed I have to use them for service, I don't really mind.

Got it at Rona and it came with a bunch of stuff. Impact wrench, painting tools etc. Actually, I bought it a little while back and bought a nailer to do some work at one of my sites. I haven't used the impact wrench yet and that's what I was looking forward to.
As for whether they'll notice if I've rotated my own tires, it doesn't matter. The thing that annoyed me was that I have to pay for it from them so that they can keep record of all my maintenance.

By the way guys, just wanted to put it out there that they never said I would 100% have to pay for it, just that they need to see it first. I just don't think that's the proper way to handle a customer whose obviously quite angry. Combine that with what I discussed above, along with the fact that my Mazda has had it's door kicked in twice due to a defect in the door known by criminals nationally and it's pretty obvious as to why I've about had enough with that dealership. The car itself, runs fine and has had very few issues. Quite satisfied with it, just not the way i've been handled since the first day I bought it.
