I agree that four in one year is improbable. If Tiger did it though, I wouldn't be surprised. Maybe not this year, but I wouldn't place it outside the realm of possiblity.
He's finished in the top 4 in 12 of the last 14 majors so he's almost always giving himself a chance to win... All he's gotta do is just string the right ones together.

I disagree strongly.
Look at what he did for years with his knee problem and all the majors . Or have him talk about how he had to adjust his swing and how felt his bones move and the lack of an ACL. He was far from being a %100 but still dominated the game of golf.
There's also the mental aspect of the game that IMO seperates Tiger from the rest of the pack. His ability to focus when the pressure is on when most other golfers choke or falter under pressure. Look at Phil Mickelson and all the majors he's lost because he choked in the final rounds.
To suggest it will take him 10 years to win 8 more is ludicroius. He won the US Open with a bum knee. I can't think of another golfer that could have done what he did.

I'm going to have to tune in to this Charles Barkley show they keep showing commercials for. What a sweet swing! And to think I wasted my time growing up trying to model my swing after Fred Couples.

3 down on the 14th hole and Tiger holes out from the greenside bunker to start the comeback.
Same hole that he began his comeback vs JB Holmes last year.
Now 2 down with 4 to play.

Nevermind, Tim Clark beat him. Out in the second round.
Mickelson, Ogilvy, Villegas, Els, Furyk, and McIlroy are the big names remaining.

Great round by Tim Clark! Played a near flawless game to beat Tiger.
Interesting post game interview where Tim said he didn't expect to beat Tiger and felt the way to win was to focus on his game as opposed to worrying about what Tiger might do. Too me that's half the battle of beating Tiger, not letting how he plays intimidate you.

Lots of big names left.. don't forget about guys like Casey, Donald, Cink and Leonard.
And don't forget BOO Weekley, that nut can get on a roll with the crowd behind him.

All I know is when I was down in the States all I saw in the paper was "5 days 'till Tiger is back" followed by "4 days 'till Tiger is back!" then "THREE days 'till Tiger is BACK!!!!" and so on; meanwhile hockey was a summary after the girls' highschool soccer scores.
I guess there's no hype like overhype to get the message across.

It maybe over hype but the guy is a legend when it comes to the PGA. Attendance at tournamnets has suffered since his absense and television rating were down also. He's a huge revenue source for golf and his return will be a big boom to tournaments and those that sponsor it.

No argument here, other than to wonder how much of that is due to over-obsessive media coverage of just one guy in the first place? I don't think it's healthy for one person to dominate coverage to such an insane extent, for the very reason that once that one person is hurt/on sabbatical/retired, what else does the sport have going for it?
Not that I really care, as I don't watch golf in the first place, but you have to think that if someone who doesn't watch golf gets annoyed by the hype, how much worse must it be for those who do watch golf and are actually fans of someone else? I know my dad, for one, doesn't watch as much golf as he did even five years ago because it's all Tiger, all the time, even when he isn't among the leaders.

Valid point. I have wondered myself if the media pays for too much attention to Tiger. I believe some of is due to the way dominates the game and how much influence he has on the sport. That being said we have other golfers with great talent like Mickelson or Singh who for whatever reason are not able to challenge Tiger on a consistant basis. That hurts the game.
The game was better IMO when you had Nicklaus, Trevino, and Watson battling it out for the Majors. You had a number of great players entering a Major with fans wondering who is going to win. Today the focus is on the player who gets paired with Tiger on the last round and will he able to hande the pressure. Or how will Mickelson blow up in the final round of this Major.
