Maybe I'll phone and ask. It would be interesting to know if they are still on the lookout. The transit cop did take down a detailed description of me. If nothing else, I'd like to know what I was wearing that day.

Customs has a targeting unit that seems to love running all the names on flights from vacation destinations. It is a crappy end to a vacation when the Customs Officer comes to you and puts you in a cell for a few hours while they wait for the police to come with their portable debit machine. Then you "pay or stay".
My advice to you is pay before travel (just go to a CPS station and ask them to check your name because you might have forgot to pay a transit ticket a while back but aren't sure)! If there is no warrant, your golden. If there is, you pay there. Then travel with your receipt because CPIC is not updated instantly and the old warrant may stay on there for a while).

That is completely dependent on what type of warrant you have.

Oh please do please do. I'd like to take a crack at Mrs. Dog while Mr. Dog and Leland are out "arresting" people.

My only run in was when a bunch of us were on the train, they came in checked our ID's, and one of the girls with us didn't have her student ID. They said you know it's a four hundred dollar ticket right? We said yup, they said carry on and don't forget your ID again.
It was pretty intense.

Has anybody ever just tried running away from them, after you're out on the platform? I'm pretty sure I could easily out run those fatties, and it's not as though they have a car to chase you in, nor are they real cops.
Good idea / bad idea?

That happened to a friend of mine while it was raining, and he was trying to make it to the bus shelter. He said all he remembers is the flash of lights behind him, and then he was tackled into the pavement. Apparently there had been a rash of break-ins in that area, and he supposedly matched the description. He's not Asian, but he did have spikey hair at the time.
Maybe cops hate people with spikey hair?
Anyway, I don't want to derail the thread, just figured it was worth mentioning.

I don't think they would throw you in jail. You would most likely have to goto the station and pay it off immediately if a warrent was issued though...

I had a run in with two of them a few years after high school. It was at heritage after high school gets out. I was coming home from uni and there was a transit officer at each door in the car. I was seated at the middle.
In a total and complete set up, one officer was screaming at the top of his lungs for students to get in the car and move on down. The other one was standing there threatening to ticket anyone who pushed. The students were damned if they did and damned if they didn't. Then the idiot who was yelling to move on down screams "what, are you deaf?".
That was enough for me to stand up and confront him on his use of language and the situation he put the students in. He got in my face and we got into it a bit. As soon as I got home I called up the city and reported the incident. They weren't going to do much with it until I mentioned the "what, are you deaf?" aspect. Then they took it seriously. The guy got in crap. I even had a union rep call me up and start to chew me out for complaining, but he went away quickly when I asked him what his union's stance would be when (not if, but when) I informed the hearing impaired organizations of the position the transit union was taking on the issue.
Honestly, if it hadn't had been a total set up to stick it to the students, I probably wouldn't have done anything, but it was so clearly people with deep seated personality inadequacies that tried to be taken out on the student populace. I'd do it again if I saw it again.
