If A-rod and Griffey would have stayed with the Mariners till 2001 when Ichiro came over, I think they would have won a World Series.

They had 116 wins that year....and Ichiro was the only superstar.

I remember when Griffey first came up, there were people complaining about his attitude regarding watching home runs and just his overall swagger.

It's funny now that he can be looked upon as a shining example of the pure game in what was a pretty dark era for baseball. One of the best ever, I'm glad I got to watch him play.

Can we be sure that anyone was "pure"?

I need to get down there for a game!!! Griffey is my favorite player of all time and the reason why i am a Mariner fan!!! To bad he got injured so much while in Cincy. He could of been chasing down Bonds......or Bonds would of never caught him if you know what i mean?

What a class act tho. Ya we liked to watch his home runs etc etc. But he has never been an ass to the media, never got iinto trouble with the law and has never been on steriods. How could he have been? With all those years on the IR

I think A-Rod was well removed from the shadow of steriods not that long ago. Now he's the new poster boy (with Bonds' retirement).

I hope Griffey (and Frank Thomas) are never implicated. If either of them are, an entire generation of baseball will be black marked.
