Whatever quality the file is, is what will show up on your TV.
Once you get it set up turn on your xbox 360, and go to the Video Library section.

apparently this doesnt work like that anymore.... it says the download is limited to 100 songs+100 videos ..... the wierd thing is that it shows my movies on there but gives me an error code when i try to watch them, but even more wierd is that i only have 2 movies but it shows i have 5 ... lol i own slap shot and inside man... inside man does not show up but 4 other movies do.. Malibooty, moving day, the dream team , and the new guy.... i dunno where those came from and lastly ho do i set it up to view my tv shows folder in itunes?
i guess i might have to buy the full thing for it to play shows and movies for me

I'm using the free version and haven't had any issues yet. The settings automatically view my "movies" folder and refresh it as often as I want. As long as my shows and movies are in there it has worked.
I'm not sure Itunes format videos will work, so you may need to convert those to divx or something else.

There should be a connect360 icon beside your wireless and volume icons on the top right of your screen. It's a circle.
click that, then:
Connect 360 preferences>>setttings>>movies
edit: the trial version will limit you to 5 movies, but you can just rotate the video files you have in that folder when you need to watch something else.

Look to handbrake for all your video converting needs. There's even an xbox 360 preset ... I just finished ripping my entire dvd collection using handbrake.

I got my cables in the mail today, but how do I make this work now? When I go to the correct mode on the TV, all I see is the background of my laptop, I can't get anything else to show up.

Hook it all up and go to system prefs and display. I think you get two windows. Find the one that has the display option to mirror displays. I'm not at home so I can't check so sorry if this is of no help.

Search for the equivalent of dualview for Macs.
I don't know if there is an equivalent but dualview (independent views) is nice. ie) send a movie to the TV while the laptop display does something else

I'm having some issues with audio here guys. Today is the first day I've tried to get audio through my Macbook into the TV. I didnt have any proper cables, so I went to The Source, and bought an audio cable that the guy told me I could plug in to the back of my TV, in the PC audio in jack. Well that doesn't work. Nor does it work if I put it in the headphones jack on the TV. Any thoughts? Did he sell me the wrong thing? I know you guys told me to to buy that three coloured cable, but I figured that since this was cheaper...

You will need to go into the input settings on your TV for that input and tell it that it's receiving analog audio.
This took me a solid afternoon to figure out.
