O'Neal was a gamble for the Raptors that did not panned out. When he got picked up I thought awesome we finally have a centre who can play well defensively and also offensively that will complement Bosh. Well, obviously everbody's wrong. Moon, on the other hand suddenly hit rock-bottom and became expendable when Joey Graham play excelled. To me, this trade is not bad and I don't mind it at all especially if Marion and Banks help the Raptors. I am not sure if Banks is PG or SG but he will definitely fill in as a bench player and Marion will be a good help as well.
Losing Moon and O'Neal will not lose some sleeps on a lot of Raptors' fan. Maybe O'Neal will get better in Miami with Wade. Hmmmm... isn't kind of coincidence that there was this guy with the same last name used to be one-two punch in Miami?

Yeah, I guess what is there to lose by doing this?
I really thought this team was on the verge of something special when they acquired JO, boy, I was wrong. Not even close to the same player he used to be.

Should be interesting to see how Marion's debut goes tonight. He was all smiles at the PC yesterday, so let's see if it translates. I have my doubts.
On that note, there was a doozy of a rumor floating around yesterday that Colangelo immediately denied (to be fair he denied the Marion rumor too )
To PHX: Chris Bosh
To Chicago: Picks and expiring contracts (they weren't specific about details)
To Tor: Amare Stoudamire.
Maybe Colangelo really is trying to build Phoenix north. Just wait until Nash hits free agency..

I don't understand how Chicago gets involved in that deal... looks like a TOR/PHO deal to me.

I might be missing something here but where does Chicago come into play int his deal? I realize you're just quoting a rumor you heard but it essentially looks like a straight up trade switching Bosh for Amare in which I would have to say Raptors would lose again. They might look better in the next couple years but over the long run I think Amare would be more injury prone and have a worse attitude than Bosh. Why not throw in Nash/Calderon in that deal and reunite the main 3 from the "7 seconds or less" era?

I heard a similar version of that, but it was Bosh to Chicago, Stoudamire to Toronto, and Gooden, Thomas, and a 1st rounder to Phoenix.
But I still don't see it happening. Bosh for Stoudamire is a lateral move (although Colangelo obviously has a history there), and it would make more sense for the Raptors to trade Bosh for the Chicago package (and even that is pretty unlikely).
edit: found the link to this rumour in a chicago paper:

Yeah, my post above was a typo (IE, should have been Bosh to Chicago)... I heard that Thomas was going... didn't hear about Gooden though.
I personally can't see it happening either, just found it interesting given Colangelo's track record with Stoudamire.
OT: There's a lot of rumblings that Carter might be on his way out of NJ today too. That could be something to keep an eye out for.

My bad. Long day at work. The rumor that Octothorp posted is what I meant to post originally (sans Thomas).
I agree though, I don't like that deal from a T.O. perspective either. Should be interesting to see what Colangelo does though. He's been adamant that Bosh will stay a Raptor, but we're really starting to hear a lot of rumors that he might be on the market.
As much as CB4 is the Raptors franchise right now, might make sense to deal him. This team isn't good and there's no way that he'll resign in 2010.

Bosh ain't going anywhere. He's not unnecessarily untradeable, but considering the poor season the Raptors are having, they're bound to be in trade talks. However, I'm sure Colangelo is listening especially is Amare is involved.

Amare and Marion don't get along, that was the whole problem in the first place!

I think it's more likely that BC makes a couple of moves. Kapono for a big man as they are mighty thin there with JO gone and Hump with the broken leg. And he tries to ditch WS for anything he can pick up.

Amare >>>>>>>>>>> Marion
Shawn Marion is garbage. I would hope that you would agree.

Saw this from Chad Ford today. It's not even a rumour, more of a complete hypothetical, but if I was Colangelo and this came across my desk, I'd do it without a second thought: Bosh for Biedrins, Randolph, Turiaf, Belinelli, and a future #1.
