I prefer Kauai. It is so much more peaceful and laid back on Kauai... but Maui is pretty darn good too!

I'm not very well traveled, at least not outside of North America, but nothing takes my breath away like the Northern Rockies. From the Bob Marshall Wilderness north to Terrace, BC. Specifically I'd say Glacier Nat'l Park and Lake Louise really do it for me.
I very much want to explore the areas further north...Alaska, Atlin Lake area, Yukon.

I would be tempted to say Las Vegas too, but I think it is closer to the funnest place in the world than the nicest place in the world. Las Vegas is my destination of choice, Hawaii is second and I'd rank Hawaii as my #1 nicest place.
LOL... oops. I originally missed the Spearmint Rhino reference.

I should mention Igauzu falls on the Brazil and Argentina border too. Fantastic, from the Devils throat where you can walk right up to it, and the hidden falls on the Island that you have to walk out of bounds to get to. I'm looking forward to seeing Tierro del Fuego and the Pantagonian Coastline next month.

Of the places I've been to: the island of Hiiumaa, Estonia. Northern Mongolia. I guess I just like places that feel really remote and serene. As far as urban environments, probably Budapest, although I don't know if I'd use the adjective 'nice'; it has a genuine roughness, unlike some of its neighbouring metropoleis.

That is nice. I think though that some of the views on the Cabot Trail, in Cape Breton, NS are absolutely spectacular. Gorgeous.

Maui....especially Napili
North Shore, Honolulu
I'd hafta agree with KL, Singapore.
Driving from Singapore to KL, Malaysia was pretty crazy.
Also the drive from Nairobi, Kenya to Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania (even though treacherous at times) was perhaps the most fulfilling drive ever. At one point, driving up a huge ridge, upon reaching the top we pulled over and had a view of the entire Serengeti at sunset. The path that we took was not well-traveled but we had a hired tour guide and driver in our "matatu" or 15-passenger van.
I've never seen soo many bright, shining stars at night, and the sky was littered with them as we drove through the night. In the distance, driving through the valley you could see the abacus trees and at one point we even saw a group of giraffes.

The stretch of New Zealand between Auckland and Wellington.
Simply spectacular; you can get almost every type of landscape known to mankind in this cross-section of the country.

We stayed in Waikiki, even though there were lots of tourists, I still loved everything about it.

Muncho Lake in northern BC
Or Sikanni Falls, also up there.
Actually let's just got with anywhere along the Alaska Highway NORTH of Fort Nelson.
2nd Place: Along the highway between Lake Louise and Jasper
3rd Place: Downtown Halifax on a Friday night.
4th Place: Souris, PEI
5th: Whistler during the summer
Yeah, yeah, I've never left the country. But I've been anywhere in Canada you would ever want to go... or not go.

I really like the towns along Almafi Coast in Italy. Also really like Dubrovnik in Croatia and Kotor in Montenegro.
