The ADHD thing is pointless to this discussion.

The kid made a mistake(s), and the place he worked for moved him from the area where he was making the mistakes to another area where he could still do his thing, but have less chance to make these kinds of mistakes.

As far as I am concerned, this kid got off easy, but I am sure it is clearly written in the operating procedures that these people sign off on that they are not allowed to do these things. If they are, he has no case. If they are not, or he never signed off on them, then he has a very strong case.

First off, ADHD is a real disorder. Unfortunately, there are thousands of willfully disobedient children that are incorrectly diagnosed with ADHD because their parents refuse to implement boundaries in their child's life.

Second, I don't see how this kid is getting a free pass. He got the heave ho after having trouble following the dictates of his job.

I think the lawsuit is bunk, myself and his parents are simply making a bad situation worse by leaning on his ADHD like it should be a trump card.

I hated the guy until I found out about the over 100 million he has so far raised for Cancer research. Did you hear about it? Nope, he does not parade around his charity work like an Opera. His words are dumb but his heart and work ethic are gold.

I don't see anywhere in the article where it says what exactly the rules were. So, without that information, I don't see how anyone can say he broke the rules.

The teen said he believed the arena's rules only prevented him from talking to hockey players, not all celebrities.
Either he was mistaken, or the rules aren't clear.

I don't like how the father is saying ADHD made him do it. I also don't like the Human Rights Commision a non-judicial body with little oversight and the ability to inflict great harm.

Look, he took his buddy out into the ice after a game. That sounds cool, but it has to put a person in managements bad books. Anything that he does after that (talking to Don) is grounds for dismissal (or relocation if the article is correct) if he's already on the hot seat. How many second +1 +1 +1 chances do we get?

Either he was mistaken, or the rules aren't clear.
It wasn't just one time that he was "mistaken" about the rules:

Quote:
The decision came after a previous run-in with arena management in which he used his volunteer privileges to bring a friend onto the ice after a game.

After interacting with Cherry twice in the course of two days,
It appears they worked in the past to help him understand his "mistakes":

Quote:
"This young man seems to not want to adhere to our procedures," Vince Vella, general manager of the city-owned facility, said in an email.
"He has been counselled numerous times and doesn't seem to want to comply with our practices and procedures. He continuously fails to comply."

You can certainly be fired as a volunteer. Some place you have to apply to volunteer just like a job. It looks like he had been warned more than once not to approach celebs and he still did. Rules are rules.
