I see that it's still eluded you, my friend. The thread is for posting places where people can go for free wi-fi. I was saying that you could park outside my house, if not for the fact that it's secured. I can't make any more clear than that. BTW, there is also my office. Also secured.

Okay, most any Safeway, isn't that right? They want to keep you there drinking the Starbucks coffee.

Gee, thanks for letting us know that there are at least two secured wireless networks in Calgary. That is such great and important information that I don't know how I went on knowing that.
On a side note I have two free tickets for anyone who wants to go to the Flames game tomorrow,oh, but they aren't free because I'll only sell them to you for $100. But it doesn't matter anyway, because I'm not selling them.

Art Central has free WiFi, although not officially. All those hipsters in their art stores are running separate wireless connections and have no idea they're broadcasting unsecured wireless networks. I always check my mail on the go there.

And once secured spots are cracked they are free. Depending upon the encryption used, it isn't that hard to crack it.

I know I get Wifi in Chinook Center, up in the foodcourt. The Network was called "Calgary Hearing Access" or something.

Many of the libraries in southern Alberta have free wireless access. I wouldn't be surprised if the libraries in Calgary also have something.

if you have a starbucks card, just register it on their website and you get 2 free hours a day using the card number and its pin. use the card once a month to keep it active (so maybe it's not 100% free, but if you're going to Starbucks anyways...)
