Unequivocally, no. Coach Ryan McGill said Baldwin has been playing a wing the past couple weeks simply as a means to get the second-year pro and third-round 2005 Calgary draftee ice time.

The recent signing of Brad Brown, an NHL-tested player brought back to lend blueline experience, left the Flames backline crowded, and frontline injuries to Kris Chucko and Cam Cunning created an opening upfront. Baldwin was sidelined with a lower-body injury for the season’s first five weeks, and the Flames want him exposed to AHL hockey.

Now, though, the frontline players are due back. “We’re going to obviously have to make some decisions on the back end,’’ McGill said.

prust has been in calgary all year. he was sent down for a day to work with the skating coach that was working with the qc team. but aside from that, we haven't seen him. i think theres a possibility he has a rehab assignment down here, but that would be it.

The Sun has an update on Prust today - he's still a long ways away - just starting to eat some solid foods.
