Tethering was explicitly included as part of the introductory 6GB/$30 plan. It was for all data, any data.

The problem, though, is the plan no longer exists... which means details of the plan no longer exist... and I'm having a hard time finding it listed anywhere.

I have heard there is some voodoo magic you can perform on the iPhone to enable tethering right now. But I think it involves jailbreaking your phone and exposes you to all the risks associated with doing that. But I can confirm that tethering on the $30/6GB is 100% endorsed by Rogers. I have confirmed this with Rogers and I do it from time to time with my Bold.

Yep yep. It's called PdaNet, and you have to jailbreak the phone in order to install it. Works flawlessly, though, and is actually very usable.

Awesome to have confirmation on the 6GB plan with tethering as well.

New Macbook Pro apparently has a built in battery. Meaning that when it dies, you need to send the whole shebang into Apple to get it replaced.

Supposedly the new lithium batteries last a very long time but I just don't trust it. I'd rather not lose my workstation for 3 months just to replace a damn battery.

The new goggles also do nothing.

The battery life does sound very impressive though.

If the battery don't last the entire time I own the thing that sounds like a horrible idea.

A built-in battery is a deal breaker for alot of people. Especially those on the road alot and may not have access to a plug for long durations. Poor choice by Apple to move in that direction with their products. I can't think of one good reason to have a battery built in as opposed to removable other than wanting to cash in on the service fee for replacing dying batteries.

According to Apple, though, this "built-in" battery has an 8 hour charge, will take up to 1000 charges, and lasts up to 5 years.

So, even if the battery falls short of those expectations, it's still going to last you a while. Also, they have a battery replacement option... you'll just have to take it in and get it done. Assuming it can be done at a Mac store, it's not that big of a deal to drive to Market Mall and get your battery replaced.

Admittedly, though, if there's one thing I know very little about, it's what's involved in getting a Mac fixed.

...which is actually a good thing, if you think about it.
