Yyyyyep. I think Marijuana probably damages brain cells (contrary to research that it doesn't, in my experience, my short term memory took a hideous dive for a while before it came back to normal when I used that stuff). I would never fear a violent pothead though. It won't make people violent unless it's combined with other things.

I have had similar things happen to me. Apparently a drug dealer lived in my apartment before me and for the first couple of months, I had people banging on my door in the middle of the night; and also people looking in my window.

It was really unnerving to come home from somewhere and see footprints in the snow going from window to window (it's a basement apartment).

To make matters worse, the police wouldn't even come to check it out.

Finally got some sleep. The kids are bouncing all over the place today though. My 5 year has taken photos of the guy's footprints as 'evidence' and the three eldest kids are having 'meetings' to solve the case. (Too much Hardy Boys I think!!)

I'll probably call the Police on Monday to find out what happened with the guy.

Thanks for the responses everyone.

Something similar happened last year to me in Vancouver. I hear this thumping at the door, thinking it's one of my roommates who just locked themselves out, I head to said door. Turns out it's a massively inebriated guy who keeps shouting about something or other, somehow he managed to get our door open and starts heading into the house. I got one good kick in on him which got him out of the house and I promptly locked everything and got my other roommates to call the cops.

The next day we find a cellphone and a big honking knife by a bush close to our house. Apparently the kid was screwing around with some chick until she decided to break it off. I think it was the guys teacher since he kept referring to her as Ms in his text messages. Just getting the chance to read through the hilariously bad affair was worth the whole ordeal.

Anyways, hope everything turned out alright on your end.

had someone banging on my door at 11:30pm the other night. I went to the door and he started apologizing profusely. "Sorry, wrong house!" He had a suitcase and a cab was dropping him off. He went two doors down and appeared to find the right place. Strange. I wasn't too shook up about it, but it was definitely weird.

A few years ago when I was living in Dorms at school my room got 'broken' into and my car stolen. Got the car back a few days later, but for like a month after I kept my room locked even if I was in it. Which was quite unusual as far as dorm life goes.

My buddy rented out a basement sweet for a few months, one morning he woke up, walked out to his living room and there was a dood passed out face down with his shirt off, covered in tats in the middle of the rug. He wasn't sure what to do, he didn't want to wake the guy and have him become very aggressive so he phoned the cops, they came before buddy woke up and took him away.

Apparently his friend lived there before and he still had a key, used to be his crash pad after getting too drunk to drive home. I give him props for not driving home, but a minus for breaking and entering. The cops and my buddy dropped all charges and he actually ended up dropping off a bottle of booze as an apology, and then they had a good laugh about it.

Well... that was the worst case scenario. Haha, that's just what I thought about when I read your thread, what a horrible movie though.

Sounds like it's a fairly common occurence and rarely results in anything besides a spook. Hopefully you're all settled down and can return to feeling safe in your own home.

I wonder if your kids will determine that the real culprit was inebriation. Go to it Sleuths!

My friend was home alone one day. She was in her basement and she could hear someone come in the front door and start rummaging around. So, she grabbed her phone and locked herself in a room downstairs. She called the cops and eventually heard them come in the house. All of a sudden, she hears the cops calling down to her, telling her to come upstairs.

When she got upstairs they told her that the previous owner of the house, an old woman who now had Alzheimers was in the house.

She was really shaken though, she called me afterwards and was still worked up.

I haven't ever had someone knock on my door that late, but my old neighbour used to walk through the halls and stairway, mumbling and crying to himself. He also would stand at doors and listen. Very creepy.

That's happened to my parents a few times.... but they live 3 houses away from a rehab centre. I think the last guy was asking if my dad was "holding"...

This happened to me at the MGM in Vegas almost two years ago. My wife and I were sharing a room with my best friend and his wife. One night we all awoke to a knocking at the door. My friend's wife got up and checked saw nobody. About 15 minutes later there is some knocking again. Nobody moved since last time was a false alarm. Unfortunately the knocking continued and somebody starts saying "Open Up! Precious! Precious! Open Up!". My friend gets up this time, looks through the peek hole and sees a rather large black woman. He talks to her through the door, telling her she's got the wrong room... probably 30 minutes later the knocking continues. "Precious! Let me in!". I get up and look and nobody was there. I wasn't back in bed for more than a few seconds when the knocking continues "Precious! I know you're in there". My wife's friend darts out of bed, opens up the door and screams at the lady "There's no Precious here, now get lost!" and she slammed the door. The lady never came back, but my friend's wife says that the lady sure looked confused to see a white chick open the door. The next day as we were checking out we heard somebody complaining about some chick knocking on their door in the middle of the night. It was just somebody who was too drunk to read the floor and door numbers.

Guy did this at my Grandpa's house in Virden, Manitoba. Not exactly the busiest town so it was pretty surprising.

4:00 am on a Friday night, 12th floor corner apartment, downtown Calgary, year 2000. The Cops are banging on the door.

I open the door and they ask if they can come in and inspect my balcony. I guess there is a guy climbing my building and they think he is right outside my place right now. Much ado about nothing, they leave and I go to bed.

Fast Forward one week. I come home from a night out with my girlfriend and open the fridge to grab a beer while I hear someone talking to her. WE LIVE ON THE 12TH FLOOR! Sure enough there is the guy on my Balcony letting himself into the apartment from the balcony. Long story short, I shoo him out and close the door and proceed to call the coppers about this guy trying to come into the place. I guess I may have scared him by picking up the phone because the next thing I know I am watching him plummeting to the earth( ultimately his death) from the 13th floor.

That was really weird.

When I was younger my brother locked himself out and decided to wake me up by throwing sticks at my window. 2 am and it scared the crap out of me. And another time frantic knocking and door bell going off.... Stupid cab driver had wrong address at 1:30 am.
