We get up later than we did when me and my brothers were little. Usually will have a nice breakfeast, then open presents. After the presents are done, me and my brother put on a violent non Christmas movie, make some alcoholic beverages then spend the rest of the day insulting the crap out of each other. Mom and my sister in law make a nice dinner, we eat, then me and my brother turn up the drinking til someone passes out or throws up. Good times.
ugh. appy's? sorry, that's a major pet peeve of mine.
geeeez..getting dissed on a Christmas traditon thread!

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.
Love that movie. My son's fave. I found a cool Special Edition of it at Future Shop. It comes in a tin and it has some cool little knick knacks in it. I also found tree ornaments..one is the kid coming down the stairs in the bunny suit and the other is the kid with his tongue on the pole..pretty cool ornaments.

H & B...the fact it's a bit harder to find on the 25th just makes things that much better.
Actually, don't have a lot of traditions, except having some total relaxation time when the girlfriend goes over to her parents place after we open presents together.
My christmas tradition is to treat it just as I do every other day. The only exceptions, are that instead of drinking with friends, I drink with family. Also my drink of choice changes. On Christmas I drink a lot more spiced rum n egg nogs than I do on a normal day.

At the Hallmark store this year, they have the ornament of the leg lamp in the box with the straw. The lamp lights up and the sound is the Dad saying
it must have come from France it says Fragile, only he pronounces it Frageelay. It was really cool.
Being in a new city this year some of the old traditions have to be dropped or modified. Except the movies! Ahhh, holiday movies... all the obvious classics and of course... a few hidden gems (good choice on Die Hard earlier!!):
Every Christmas since I was a kid, my Mom plays the Chipmunks Christmas album while we open Christmas presents. She used to play it to get my brother and I out of bed, but now that we live elsewhere, it's only when we open presents.
Until this year, it was chinese food on Christmas Eve too.
My favourite Christmas movies to watch are Christmas Vacation and How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Since Love Actually was released I also watch that every year.
Music I usually just enjoy Bing Crosby or Frank Sinatra.
My family always orders Chinese Food for Christmas Eve and we all make Roast Beef and Yorkshire pudding for Christmas Day dinner = 2 sets of leftovers for Boxing Day.
This is my first Christmas without my family so I may need to work on some of my own traditions I guess.
A couple years ago when I was overseas, I received a care package from my little sis. The most important item was a burnt copy of The Muppets Family Christmas cd. Fricken hilarious.
"We won't go until we get some"
"wont go"
"we wont go until we get some"
"WONT GO!"
"we wont go until we get some" WONT GO!!!
Tim! That's enough!!
Lots of appy's on Christmas Eve, get up really really early Christmas morning, open presents, eat stuffed french toast, then go back to bed for a couple of hours. No special dinner, just eat all the leftovers from the night before. Shopping early boxing day.
Leftovers for Christmas dinner? Yech.
First of all, since the kids no longer live at home, my wife and I get to sleep in late... say 10ish and then we get up and open up one small gift each (the rest we leave for the kids to arrive at the house). Then we have a late breakfast consisting of buttermilk pancakes and breakfast sausages, and of course coffee, orange juice, and/or milk.
Then we putz around and wait for the company to arrive. Once they get here, its rum & eggnoggs or khaluas & milk to sip on while we open all the Christmas presents.
And then of course, there's Christmas dinner...
Christmas isn't complete without roast turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, veggies, cranberry sauce, hot buns and rolls, a little bit of wine to go with dinner, and then of course hot apple pie with ice cream on top for desert.
Then we all sit around and moan and groan about having ate too much..
