I don't even like those types of games, and never have I been sucked in by a video game so much.

Actually, that's what I said before I first laid hands on it. I didn't think I'd enjoy it at all. I rented two games that week when I rented it (the other was NBA 99), and set out for a weekend of gaming. I played NBA 99 for a couple hours, then plugged in the OoT cartridge. Needless to say, NBA 99 was never touched after that switch.
I really need to buy this game......before it becomes rare to find.

Goldeneye has to be the best game I have ever played. Spent a lot of time to the wee hours with my buddies. That's all we really did after high school. Play from 9pm until 4-5am, sleep until 4pm and repeat process. LOL

Great choices
Just to add a few more
PC
- Deus Ex
- The original Rainbow 6 games (mainly Rogue Spear)
- Duke Nukem (for it's time, it was quite edgy. Also, it was one of the last good games that you didn't use the mouse to aim like most FPS are these days)

My all time favourite PC list:
Civilization series for sure
Half Life 2
Elite
Pirates!
Baldur's Gate 1 and 2
Doom 1 and 2
Oblivion
Honourable mentions:
Planescape: Torment
Fallout 1 and 2 (Fallout 3 will probably make the list soon. Have to play it more)
X-Com
System Shock 2
Some of the modern games are very good too. GTA:IV on a decent PC machine is great
Far Cry 2 is good too.
Too soon to list them on the all time list though.

Decathlon -- Atari
Tecmo Bowl -- NES
Tony Hawk -- Playstation. "I'm not sitting around on a Friday night watching you guys drink beer and play that stupid skateboarding game again..." is a sentence I'm ashamed to have heard more than once.
