Ya he sure choked away those 3 majors, the 34 tournament wins and over $50,000,000 in tournament earnings.
I am sure all those other golfers not named Tiger Woods would hate to have a lousy career like that. What a terrible golfer.
He wins a lot more than he chokes but why let facts get in the way of hating someone for no reason.

he'll probably be suspended for 6 tournaments, undergo anger management counselling, and then have his contract bought out in the summer for 80% of its value.

Hey I said he was a good golfer. Great golfers have more than 3 majors...he would have had more too but he choked away a bunch when it matters.
I also never said I hated him, you should read my first post after that above-average part.

He has a reputation of choking in the final round of the majors. You always have the announcers talking about it. Quite painful too watch.

I've heard a few second and third hand stories from guys that are part of the golf community and have had stories...Mickelson is a prick. Sure, so as are other golfers, including Woods, but just Mickleson is at the top.
I think though, the thing is Mickleson has this supposed alloof "gosh golley darn" perception about his personality when really he's as a big or bigger dink then anyone out on the tour.
Probably not the place for Williams making those comments, as has since been responded to, but I don't think he was telling any tales out of school. No, caddy's don't have the same expectation of level of respect of other golfers, but they are part of the inner circle on the prop tour, and likely have enough interaction with the players to expect a certian relationship.

Didn't ready the thread (sorry) but Mickelson is known to be a prick. I believe there was a sports illustrated article where they polled every sport and asked who the most hated person in their sport was. Mickelson won, in fact Mickelson has a nickname on the tour "Figjam" (*** I'm Good Just Ask Me) because of his ego apparently.
Edit: It might not have been sports illustrated, I thought it was.....not quite too sure.

3 Majors isn't enough to be called a great golfer?
Tough crowd.
And maybe Phil is a prick, but he seems to take time for the fans and the media, seems to be a pretty good ambassador for the game, and has had a huge amount of success playing during the time of the most dominate golfer in decades. And to top it off, he handles this situation with class. So he doesn't get chummy with other pros. So what?
Tiger has also had public issues with Vijay, dating back to one of the Presidents's Cup. Aames has had more than a little controversy on the Tour. Garcia and Harrington aren't buddies ("We have zero in common, bar the fact that we both play golf.").
It is an individual sport with ultra competitive guys, and I'm not surprised a lot of them ruffle each others' feathers. It isn't the Care Bear Tour.

I know some people who have been involved with the tour in a playing but mostly administrative capacity, and Phil is not well liked. Surprisingly though, Tiger is actually pretty popular and not a total jackass like some choose to believe.
Williams' comments were definitely out of line though. I remember Tiger's first caddie, Fluff Cowan, was fired because he started getting a little bit too big for his britches and was seeking out publicity. Can't see that happening here, but I think 'Stevie' would be smart to keep a lower profile.

I wonder if these comments are just a publicity ploy. With the current economic situation, golf is going to be majorly affected due to its dependence upon sponsorships.
Having Tiger's caddie spout off will bring attention to the next game that Tiger and Phil are both involved in.
