Funny and somewhat related story:

Grade 12 grad, our limo is leaving the reception (or whatever you'd call it) so naturally we ask the limo driver to take us to the nearest liquor store. He takes us to the one inside the Cecil, and we walk into the the trashiest building in the city in suits looking for cheap booze, most of us were underaged. The guy working there didn't check any of our ID's.

Wow that story sucked. Had to be there, it was pretty funny to see a limo in the Cecil parking lot.

Now where are we going to refer new Calgary tourists for a good time who come onto CP for advice? This is a cruel end to easy expert opinion.

Where is the Ivanho, I've never even heard of it. I assume Hastings?

No, that burned down back in..........'92? when the owner, Sam Plucer (?) hired someone for an arson jobbie and a fireman died. At least I think that was the place.
