I think that should be the Fata's club house. Make sure you don't sync them up, I want to have wall to wall pictures with at least one blinking at all times.

We'll definitely have to have a giant rico portrait over a constantly lit fireplace.

So, in case any of you guys didn't know, it's out. You can see it on your XMB along with your PS Store icons, etc. Apparently people are having trouble logging on, as well. No surprise.

Update: Yup, logging on is a joke.

And get a PS3 USB Controller Keyboard. And learn more about this Christina Lee person

Someone should start a Flames or CP clubhouse where we can all hang out.

The clubs cost $5, which is no big deal, but apparently Sony plans to start with a monthly fee for club owners soon. Forget it! That's a letdown.

Club's are $4.99 and they may turn monthly. Which is fine if my current strategy towards playstation home wasn't to be a cheap tard. Has anyone tried pool or the bowling? There's also chess sets in the mall as well. I'd play, but I get slaughtered by chess ai on beginner.

I heard about the 5 dollar thing today from a friend. What do you get for your money? And a monthly subscription? What the heck for?

It's interesting, but I can't stand Sony's approach of nickle and diming everyone.

I like it though in terms of the social aspect of it. I had a spirited "debate" with an Oilers fan, for instance!

I havent tried the bowling or pool because theyre usually occupied in NA
A EU friend of mine was complaining about that too, so he went to the JP home and it was empty
when I was trying to log in yesterday, scrolled to the bottom of the ToS and there was a tab to select which region you wanted to log into...so while maybe not all that fun having to go to "Japan" to play pool or bowl, it is apparently an option

I agree that it sucks having to pay for a club space, or even just to make a club, but I don't personally have any problem with all of the other charges. In the end they have to try and pay for it some how, and while ads will help that, the next step is to charge for extras. As long as these extras remain things like new clothes, furniture and crap like that I don't really have a problem with it.

Even for a club my opinion of the charges depend on a few things. What are the benefits? How many people are going to be in the club? How much is this monthly fee? How easy would it be to bilk...I mean collect donations from...my club members for some cash?

If one of the benefits of the club was that they (somehow) allowed you to form your in-game groups through home and launch them instantly into the game without you having to sit in some lobby then I'd say that's a pretty good feature. Wouldn't it be better to play some minigames in home while waiting for some slow member of your team (me) to get online to play NHL 09? Obviously that's pretty hypothetical, but it is an example of something that would make a club worthwhile.

I think the microtransaction approach would work much better if they cut everything's price by a factor of ten.

Dollars for an outfit? Dollars for costumes for LBP?? Should be tens of cents, then people wouldn't think about buying it.

Yea no one will buy virtual clothes when they can win spiffy ones like a pacman shirt for free:
http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/12/ja...ks-home-gifts/

I tried it and it works. I only got to stage 2 on pacman haha, but it unlocked 4 items.

Edit: actually stage 2 is where the demo ends

I got the email for the beta test a few weeks back, I was kind of interested but didn't want to download anything for the hell of it so I did a google and discovered it's a sort of virtual world, like second life?

If that's what it is, sounds like complete nonsense to me.

Nah, it's not even 2nd life. It's more like a sadistic prison with busybody minigames to pass the time by. Everybody is limited in their clothing selection, and judging by the sausage party when I was on, if you have a female archetype, expect to get hit on immediately by at least 5 "l33t" dudes. The clothing selection is limited, and it's not likely to run into anyone worthwhile in the main plaza or the mall. And the movie theater only plays the trailer/video to twilight so there's some opportunity for MST3k 'ing the trailer, but that'll get boring after the 15th replay. In the mall they have bits of qore magazine up so that's ok, but still, they might as well put up a "Big Brother is watching you" poster or some other display from say equilibrium.

Except on CP Eastern Girl will at least always have a few girls to back her up. In home a female will pretty much be target practice. Luckily 9/10 of the females will probably be dudes so everybody will have to be on their toes!
