Your parents are here in Alberta- right?

I would get them a PVR- maybe get you brother to chip in with you.

Edit- just had a look at Shaw's site. Apparently they only offer the HDPVR which is $500 CDN. I was thinking of the SD PVR which was around $300 CDN.

Maybe Futureshop still has them. Let me know if you need me to do some looking here for you- I still owe you a favour from when you were shopping for that Kipper-Sharks jersey.

Spend the money to come to NY, and I will show you were you can get high quality knockoffs for 15 bucks. You can buy like 5 and be a legend. Plus hey, trip to New York!

Hey, yup my parents live in Alberta..they moved to Calgary after living in Fort McMurray for lots of years. The PVR is a GREAT idea but they just bought one when they moved to Cowtown....and the sad thing is, I think my brother is the only one who uses it. My dad might use it every once in a while but mom isnt really into technology.

Let me know if you have other ideas though as the PVR one was a great one had my parents not already owned one.

Yeah I can't believe I couldn't find the adults XL Kipper jersey that time, only smaller sizes!! I shouldve just bought it and sold it to someone on CP. Ah well....

There's a Coach store in Southcentre. They're a lot more expensive here than in the US though, so it would probably be smart to wait until you go. I got mine in Palm Springs on sale for $150, regular $400.

Oilersbaby, as a house gift, I'm looking for an all natural reed diffuser for the house (apparently it's better for you than those Glade/Air wick ones) for my roommate. Maybe that's an idea for you?
They are usually in a nice glass vase with the aroma liquid at the bottom. You stick reeds into the vase and it absorbs the liquid and diffuses the smell into the air. The more reeds you put in, the more aromatic it is
It's something you can get at Pottery Barn or other house places

Why are you trying to talk her out of it? What's wrong with the Wii Fit?

That's a good idea! My mom would like that...thanks! Yeah I think Pottery Barn, Crate and Barrell or Z Gallery will have it for sure. YAY! With the liquid restrictions when we fly, I could just pack it in my checked luggage and be okay. Gracias!

WOWZA $400???? Yeah dude if you can wait til you come to the US, go to a Coach outlet store if you want the real thing or else get a knockoff like someone else suggested.

That's where I went, the premium outlet stores have INCREDIBLE deals, especially around holidays! They had 60% off of most of their handbags when I was there.

How much is the Wii Fit and do you have to have the regular Wii console or is it something you purchase seperately as a standalone? Im too lazy to read online and Im hoping someone on CP knows the answer. It may be a good gift for my little sister.

What are some of the good gifts you have gotten your Dad in the past?
I'm stuck trying to find something for him but it's hard since outside of the usual generic stuff, he just doesn't have the hobbies you can buy for (doesn't golf, use tools, ski, not a clothes person...)

Has he never golfed, just never got into it or does he hate golf.

Last year I bought my dad this week vacation golf training thing near Kelowna. My brother pitched in (less than 15% of the cost but its the thought that counts, plus he is a teacher). We all went out and golfed for a week, got lessons, it was a good time. He really enjoyed it. He doesnt golf alot except with us so.
