The single most terrifying experience of my life was in the back of a Vegas cab going 70+ mph down backstreets and thru stop signs after asking the guy "just get me there as fast as you possibly can."
If you're in Vegas, remember you can always sleep when you get home. If you can stay up 36+ hours, you won't need to be drunk to have a good time.

I went to Vegas in August 2007 for three nights and four days. I had $1750 in US cash for the whole trip. I brought all my money with me the first night. Left my bank card and credit card at home though. We pregamed on the flight and at our hotel before we went to the Rhino. I didn't spend that much more cash at the peelers, but I did get blacked out hammered. Next thing I knew, I owed the stripper $200 but only had around $50 left. Had to borrow money from my friends.
I ended up spending around $2400 that first night. The trip ended costing me almost $5500, but that includes all the roaming charges on my cell phone

I spent 2 nights at the Rhino. The second night was epic, but I can't tell you because then I would have to kill you. That and what happens in vegas stays in vegas.
The thing about the rhino, tell the cabbie you will pay for the cab ride if they will get your cover. They get paid for bringing you there, more than what you would pay for cover. So it is worth it for them to make that deal. At least the cabbie we met had that deal with them. If you want his # give me a pm.
Rhino back room is amazing. That's all I am saying.

Just a tip about the Flamingo - we made one purchase on our credit card during the entire stay, and it was at the Flamingo gift shop. 6 months later, we get a call from the credit card company asking us if we had just made some big purchases in Vegas. Someone managed to get our credit card info from that one purchase. So, be careful with your credit card (goes without saying).

I was there for a bachelor party early sept this year. two of the guys I went with dropped over 2k at the strippers, and that was just lap dances. Another guy spent 2k to have a "private show back at the hotel"
also check out the club at the top of the Rio, Voodoo Lounge I think its called, you're out on the rooftop 60 or so stories up.

Ghost Bar at the top of the Palms is another option for the up high bar with a view.

I was there for the UFC91 as well. Mixed feelings about that fight.
You can actually only drink anywhere on the strip. You leave the strip you're subject to the same rules as elsewhere for alcohol in public places.
If you gamble, alcohol is free. Just tip the waitress a dollar or two. Depending how much you play and what games you might get other freebies from the casino too.

If you plan on gambling a lot then I'd sign up for a players card right when you get there. But I do mean a lot, first time I was there I would buy in for 500 at a 25min bj table and play for an hour or two at a time probably 4hrs/day total, at the end of 5 days I didnt have enough on there for $10 spin on the slots, my buddy who played the same tables as me shared his card with his gf which pushed him to the $10 mark.
The cards just give you points to use as cash back based on how much you gamble, not sure if they apply to the sports betting, I know you said you wanted to check that out sunday.

Get a players card no matter how much gambling you intend to do (unless you are the type who will only spend like $5 on the entire trip). If you use a legit email you'll get some pretty good offers sent to you. Recently we had offers to stay at NYNY for $39/night weeday and $59 weekend. We were also offered two free nights at Bellagio. Unfortunately we aren't going for another year, but I suspect there will still be these killer deals then too.
My wife's aunt gambles a tonne. My wife's parents and her aunts and uncles all go to Vegas once or twice per year, and because her aunt gambles so much she books the rooms, nobody has to pay for their rooms, she gets them all free. She also gets a lot of free meals.

With the cards you get points for playing slots, and how much you play. If you are playing at the tables though, you don't get points, you get comps, and that is based on how much time you spend at the tables, not how much you gamble.
Probably the best for poker players, since you can usually play for extended hours with minimal risk (if you know what you are doing).
If you are playing at games like BJ, Roulette or Craps, then unless you are running good, you probably aren't going to be at those tables for very long.

I'm lucky as I never have to pay for accomodation as my parents live there.
If you're into shows, any of the Cirque ones are good. Check in advance to see if anyone decent has a concert in the area when you're there, we caught Billy Idol at the Hard Rock a few years ago and it was great.

My favorites:
Night Club: Tryst (At the Wynn. http://www.trystlasvegas.com/)
Strip Club: Spearmint Rhino
If you go to Tryst, get their early to line up. Otherwise try and find one of those services that walk you into the bar for $80 / person. It is really worth it to skip the line.

Oh yah, DO NOT GO SEE THE CRISS ANGEL SHOW AT THE LUXOR!
It sucks. That's something I wish I could get a refund for.
If you like the TV show, you will hate this show.
If you like Cirque, you will hate this show.

Got Oliver Klozoff

If you talk to the concierge at your hotel or the guy/girl standing out front arranging limos they can likely hook you up with a limo to get to a lot of strip clubs as well. Sometimes they will even get you free bottle service. Ask around.
I know Spearmint Rhino doesn't give as many deals as they don't need to. Go check it out as other people are saying. It is well worth it.

I've heard of people who liked the show, but by and large I've heard some glaringly poor reviews of the Criss Angel show.

I have a friend who may be moving to Vegas and he'll let us stay with him whenever we go, but I have mixed feelings about it. I kinda prefer to be on the strip, able to wake up and head down the the casino play some slots until I get a drink then take it up to the room and relax for a bit. Able to stay up, gambling or watching a show, having a nice walk on the strip and then heading up to the room at bed time. Its just too convenient to be staying right on the strip.

Indeed. That night was epic.
