Fist fights? Really? I'm only 6'2" but my knees usually press against the seat in front of me. I had one occasion where the guy in front of me tried to recline and couldn't because of my knees. He tattled to the flight attendant after trying to jam his seat back a couple of times. When the FA asked me about it I basically said, "This is where my knees are. I can't change that. I picked this seat and this is where I want to sit. If he's got an issue, it's his problem.". She told him that there's nothing she could do about it and he'd have to deal with it.

I am just shy of 6'4 and 210lbs and have never really had that much trouble?
In fact I am always impressed how much space there is with the newer seats like on the Westjet planes.
Of course more space is always better and I sometimes wish I could support my head a bit better when trying to rest in such an upright position, but it is not something I can't handle for the duration of my trip? Some of the American Carriers and Asian Regional Carriers make Westjet and Air Canada seem downright roomy!

Sure we get to see above people in crowds and chicks dig us, but there are quite a few disadvantages... Like when short people ask us to grab stuff off high shelves in the grocery store. And...ummmm... Leg room. And....... borrowing clothes. You know, you're at a buddy's place and you suddenly decide to go to a bar, but you're not dressed for it. You can't even borrow a shirt because he's a midget.
What else? Um... if we tall people fall down, it hurts more. And...uh... we require more food. Oh and the constant danger of low lintels on doorways. And lets not forget about shower heads. They're always aimed at our chests. Gotta bend over to wash our hair.
Can you hear me down there?

I agree, I am 6'3 and I really haven't had a problem on the newer Westjet planes, and especially the new Air Canada ones, and I fly fairly frequently.
The one other trick I do is I make sure I don't put any luggage/bags under the seat in front of me so I can slide my legs under the seat in front of me and stretch out that way.

Me too. Makes a big difference.
The biggest thing is that I find the newer seats don't have as low of a pivot point at the 'hip' of the seat, so your knees can utilize that space.
A couple years ago I was stuck on a LONG Vancouver-Manila flight on an old 747 (still had ashtrays! ack!) and each seat had tons of room under it but there is a steel bar across that low point on the seats that jammed into your knees, making that space unusable.
And agreed about camping and shower heads! Also clothes in general though, like you see an awesome jacket on sale in what should be the perfect size only to have the arms and torso be an inch or two too short!? Or where sizing betweem L/XL/XXL means getting wider (fatter) and not longer. So you either have enough length but too much width or not enough length but the right width!?
But the worst one is neck ties!! Short guys get to have awesome looking ties with nice knots in them. Tall guys have to either use a crappy/limited selection tall ties that gets waaay too thin at the top, so your knot looks just ridiculous OR you have to try and use every last inch of a normal tie and maybe get it right after the 3rd or 4th try (with practice) yet still never really get that 'full knot' look that midgets can get with one try! I mean sure we could use a lot of guys head as an arm rest when in a crowd but those midgets look way better in a tie than most tall guys!? And of course because all the girls are checking out the tall guys it makes it that much more obvious!!

Haha, me too man. 2 hours into a flight from TO to the UK an old, bitter, unfriendly, and not-skinny stewardess for Air Canada hip-checked my face waddling down the isle one way, and on her way back, she tripped on my foot that was stretched out down the isle. The second time I was asleep, until the cup of water she was holding splashed me squarley in the face.
As for the knees thing, if the seat in front is leaning back on them, its fair to shake your leg...or get an 'uncontrollable' twitch in your foot.

So true. because of that, I simply don't wear ties. Ever. Totally gave up. Even at weddings.
And another thing: beds. Us tall guys are forced to buy king sized beds so that we can actually still have our feet on the bed while our heads are centered on the pillow instead of up against the headboard.

And it is a negative for woman. Most men are not comfortable (confident maybe) dating a tall woman.
Other tall woman disadvantages;
Sleeves on blouses are never long enough.
Pay extra for longer pants and skirts.
Shoes above size 9 are impossible to find.
Have to drive a larger vehicle to get head room (ok, that is unisex one)

I've found a good use for my old ties ... they're great for cleaning the crap out of the spokes of mag wheels.
As for king sized beds, they're actually no longer than standard beds. They look longer, but I think it's just an optical illusion created by their greater width.

I was just talking about this one with a big group of friends!
Point 1) (Many) Tall women make it WAY too easy for tall men. I HATE HATE HATE when I meet a taller women and she instantly lights-up and makes it obvious that I have passed her height standard and that 'i could be the one'. Do you even like me!? It is like if I told a gold-digging women I was rich and she lights-up -- am I supposed to now be attracted? Tall girls need to play down how interested they are in the height and play up how interested they are in everything else. In short, I am always kind of suspicious and on guard when around a new tall women because I know she has sized me up as compatible based on one silly criteria.
Point 2) Shorter guys in my experience do not have a huge problem with taller women outright. But you take the fact that taller women are already chasing the even taller guys (that is a small group for them to chase) multiply by those same short guys belief that the taller girl is not interested in them (which is reinforced by the womens obsession with every tall guy that walks by) and then multiply by the women's own self-limiting-belief that she somehow neeeds a tall guy to 'fit in' and/or short guys wouldn't like her and it is not really a surprise tall women think 'men are not confident enough to deal with a tall women'.
Point 3) Because height/stature is at the top of women's lists for looks they assume it is the same rank on men's lists. Usually it is men who make this mistake of imprinting their expectations of women onto their own fragile psyches. Men can be shallow pricks for sure but I don't know any short "boob-guys" who turned down a tall chick with big boobs they had a chance with and I don't know of any short "ass-guys" that turned down a tall girl with a fantastic ass (etc etc etc). Height might matter to some guys but it is usually second or third (or much lower) on the list to their favorite physical features... you go through a guys list of hottest famous women and most are tall....
Just three thoughts though, nothing scientific.
Claeren.

Claeren, as a shorter than average man there are a number of problems with your ideas regarding us munchkins... the first being that you admit to being a tallie, which makes your opinion on the matter null and void. Secondly the all important kiss, when there is a broad that has to bend down to kiss you it is like the roles are reversed, she is in a position of control, which while not always is a bad thing, it isn't a spot that women themselves like to be in.
I do want to knock up a taller woman so my kids have a better chance at being a tallie though.

I think there is a degree of truth to your points. The first one actually reminded me of a sayng my daughter used to have, that she wanted to have printed on a baseball cap.
"You must be this tall
___________
to ride this ride."
She is over 6' 1".
Sadly, a lot of times our first impressions are physical ones. And for tall women, yes height likely is higher on our list of priorties.
I agree short men likely have less of an issue with it; haven't met one yet that did not have a long leg fantasy....LOL

haha, yeah, I would agree that if the guy is outright tiny then there are maybe more issues.
I was thinking more like, if the girl is 5'10-6'2 she is often looking for 6'0-6'4 minimum, and likely taller as the 'ideal'. But really, lots of guys 5'8-6'2 that are closer in size have none of the 'really short guy w/ really tall women' issues yet those tall women can sabotage themselves into believing it wouldn't work from the start.
For shorter guys (5'6-5'9?) the same would apply to medium height girls that are also probably thinking the same thing about taller guys?
hmm.... on the otherhand it is amazing that short guy genes have even survived this long!
Claeren.
