These bums with the stories piss me right off. It's such a load of crap. I had one chick ask me for $10 once. I was so stunned I laughed at her. Are you freakin kidding me? In this city, with all the jobs available, and the riverfront hilton that is our homeless shelter, the last thing any so called street person needs is cash directly from my pocket or anyone else's. And if people would stop giving these scammers that hang out at intersections with sob story signs their coffee change, these slackers would be forced to get a job.
Yeah yeah, there are legit homeless people. I know. Unfortunately for them, our shelters are full of lazy street kids that are only there because their dad took away the nintendo.
The only good money to give to homeless people is the money you donate directly to a program like the Mustard Seed or something like that.
As for the people that ask for change, I always tell them that change comes from within.
