I as wondering what happened to Cardhu. It is (was) one of my brands of choice and I was wondering why I can never find it any more. I also agree with your other two choices. McCallan's Cask Strength is mighty nice as well ... especially the stuff aged in Sherry cask. The 57% strength adds nicely to the belly glow too.

I'm not much of a scotch drinker, but I tend to drink Glenfiddich, preferably the Solera Reserve.

This is an interesting little number I picked up one day.

I'm not a huge scotch drinker, but from what I know, I think this would be a good 'introductory' bottle to try.

WOW. I could easily spend 20 grand at that site in about 30 minutes.

100% personal taste, a lot of people live and die by JW Blue/Red/Black, all blended. Master Blenders are pretty good at getting really distinct flavours and smells.

I have seen mention of Lagavulin and Oban, two very good single malts. An easy drinking scotch is Glenkinchie, has a really nice sweet smell, almost like maple syrup, the Glenkinchie distillery is inland so it doesn't get the coastal tastes that Lagavulin and Oban have. Also a very interesting one Talisker, it is the only distillery on the Isle of Skye and is very spicy and peaty.

No doubt Lagavulin is one of the top rated scotches. I think we should mention, though, that Lagavulin, like most of the Islays, is pretty heavy on the peat and smoke flavours, and may be a bit much for a novice scotch drinker.

A really good introductory scotch would be Dalwhinnie. Nice and light, drinkable on a hot summers day.

Bushmill's aint no scotch.

It's also a protestant whiskey.

And IMO almost every bottle of scotch under $100 pales in comparison to a $30 bottle of Jameson. The Irish have perfected whiskey distilling.
