Hmm let's say there are 20 teams.

Are there really 20 1-season wonders that were any good?
They only lasted 1 season for a reason

I think I will keep reality as 1 category. If 2 categories then are there really 40 good reality shows?

If we bump the One Season Wonder category to Two Season Wonder, there should be enough. I can think of a few already.

Also, I'd prefer a straight draft order as well (as opposed to a snake style).

Are mystery, police, and legal too similar to each other? Maybe 2 categories there (most, if not all, mysteries would fit into either police or legal).

What about Medical? Can't have all the cop and lawyer shows, but not doctor shows.

Soaps will definitely kick my ass. I assume that'll include daytime and prime time, right?

The Emmys combine Miniseries and Made for TV movie into one category. Should we do the same?

With the way Fox treats some of its show, I can think of many. 20 might be hard though, so how about "Gone too soon" - series with 3 or fewer seasons? Then, maybe to contrast that: "Long time friend" - series with 6 or more seasons.

I agree.


With regard to Reality, what about considering each season of the "elimination" reality shows (where the season starts with a group of 10-15 people/teams and one or more is eliminated each week) as their own separate selectable entity? Every season has a completely new set of characters and competitions, so they really do stand alone.

Another option, combine Game Shows and Reality Competition shows in a single category, and have the non-competition unscripted shows (makeovers, renovations, and following around celebrities) in their own category.

Edit- Medical/Hospital is a decent one, and so is World/Global.

We'll probably have to do some trimming though, as adding those two to my list = 29 categories.

Edit #2 - Ooooh, I like Channel and Worst TV Show also. Also, I think if we start delving into "Characters" or "Actors" or "Moments" it's too much. Those types of picks were almost necessary for the music draft, but we didn't do them in the movie draft and we didn't need to at all. If you wanna pick the character "House" from "House," then pick the show "House."
