Stupid comment by Dick, but he has done a great deal for the Olympic movement IIRC:
Wasn't if Dick that brought the IOC the big TV contracts, and big profits? Also, I think it was his idea to trademark and protect the Olympic logos.

I used to really respect this guy, and it's been a long downward spiral since he started slamming the NHL.
The funny thing is, I'm sure the NHL could use a little cleaning up, but he went at it in such a manner with such over the top comments, he was hurting any chance for a serious and important dialogue.
As for these comments, well, it makes me think that a civilization that has been around for 5000 years should be a little bit more progressive than what we see now (I know it's more about the government than the culture, just responding to his idiotic comment) and that we're doing pretty damn good since we were (or the natives were) savages only 400 years ago.
What a tool.
