If you really are concerned, skim off and discard the top . Cook it well, and it should be fine

With regards to milk, just taste it. You'll know immediately if it's bad.

Man, you heat up sauce first before you eat it right?

What a bunch of wussies, just cook it and serve. Heck, the bacteria is probably good for you. Look at all the foods we have that are based on milk left out (cheese, yoghurt).

Boil it and it's edible. Imagine that you are living in Stalingrad under seige in WWII and you haven't eaten anything for 15 days aside from boiled shoe leather and you weigh 80 pounds. Sudden you find a 20-hour old jar of Alfredo sauce.

Freaking mana from heaven man!

I don't know what it is about me, but whenever I think about food, I just imagine a historical circumstance (usually wartime or famine or depression) where people had to get by with way less and it makes everything I eat so much better. When I get a really bad cup of coffee, I just think about how much civil war soldiers would have loved to have real coffee instead of fake coffee boiled from roots and burnt acorns.
