If we can have Ex-Vice Presidents studying the atmosphere, why not?
I know you are joking. But Al Gore hasn't conducted or published any scientific studies. In fact this guy hasn't published any scientific studies either. An opinion piece in the Nation Post is completely worthless in the scientific study of global warming/climate change/pirates.

Geologists, of which I am one, study the earth. That includes things that effect the earth, such as the sun. We would confer with geophysicists, astrophysicists, etc.
But the correct answer in this case is the pirates graph. Obviously.

I'm curious how many studies fruit fly guy Suzuki has done, and yet people seem to give his opinion weight. You know, because clearly someone with a zoology degree has more worth opinions than someone with a geology degree....

He doesn't need to do studies. People believe him because he is
a) Famous
b) on TV
I think we could get a real good scam going if we could somehow get famous get on TV or the movies then somehow use that fame to gain control over something like ...... the state of California.
Oh wait, it is too soon for a remake of that movie.

Be interested to see what % of scientists who are informed on the matter disbelieve man-made global warming. Based on everything I've heard its a pretty low percentage. On the whole it seems scientists are usually swayed by the better evidence presented and so far it seems the man-made global warming evidence is more compelling does it not?

I don't know what to believe anymore. A part of me wants to believe that this is just the earths/solar systems cycle and it will go up and down as we go.

I constantly wonder where this opinion that "the science is settled" is coming from? The 2500 "signatories" to the IPCC report on climate change? (signatories is in quotations because they are not signatories to the contents, merely reviewers, whose opinions may or may not have been included in the final document).
This article (http://network.nationalpost.com/np/b...0-deniers.aspx) claims to have a petition of 32,000 credentialed scientists who disagree with the opinion of climate change being the result of human activities. 9000 of the people who signed this have PhDs.
I'm not going to bother to present any of the arguments now. I'm just trying to point out that, like all issues, there are two sides to this one and there is still room for debate. It seems to me, though, that to this point one side has done a much better job of marketing.
Thought this thread might've been bumped cause it's SNOWING IN JUNE. Saw some in NW calgary this afternoon.
