What conclusions am I jumping to? He was sent down more than 2 weeks ago, and he still isn't here. His name is on the program (he's sposed to be wearing #2), and he still isn't here. We've been told there were immigration problems, then those were resolved. We were told he needed time to get his family ready for the move. And now he supposedly has a finger injury, but any questions have to go directly to Sutter. McGill's as much in the dark as anyone....he told us on Monday that Eriksson would be here on Wednesday, Thursday at the latest. Now he knows nothing. If there really was an injury, wouldn't we have heard something about it somehow?

Eriksson's still getting paid that million and a half, of that you can be sure. And he's getting paid for sitting in Calgary, doing nothing. I don't blame him for being upset about being waived, or about being sent down. But part of being a professional is doing what is right, whether you like it or not.

Maybe I'm being a little harsh, but right now we have four vets out with injuries, we had another take a knee to the head last night who had to be helped off the ice in the first period because he didn't know what his feet were for then come back in the second...and we had a rookie tonight who took a blast, laid on the ice, then got up and both kept skating because there was no one to take his place. We have Vandermeer playing defense because we don't have d-men and we've signed a couple of guys just out of college on PTOs because we just need bodies on the ice. We could have kept one of the better d-men from camp who got cut, but we were told Eriksson was coming. All this while some of our best guys from last year are sitting in the stands in Calgary night after night, on one-ways that keep them from helping us out.

All we're doing is killing penalties, and we've scored a total of two goals in three games (1-0-1). Yet there's a guy sitting in Calgary who could help us out but who has decided that's really not what he wants to do. If that's what the NHL does to a guy...

Chances are the guy is actually hurt. If he fails to report the Flames do not have to pay him the 1.5 million, they can suspend him. I am pretty sure it has all been legitimate. A broken finger can often keep a guy out for a month or so, it may need to be immobile, and may even need surgery. He is actually a good guy, great with fans, good in the room, just overpaid for a fringe 6/7 NHL d man. He will help out in QC.

I have played rec hockey with a broken finger. Pardy played 1 month last year with a shattered foot. Anders is a wuss and I will boo him just like the rest of the qc fans when he decides to come down. Hes just another Ramholt a defenceman that doesnt know his head from his a**

With all due respect, there are 19 bones in the hand and another nine in the wrist. The hand is critical to your daily living, the docs may not be letting him play, so he doesn't lose use of a finger for the rest of his life. Just saying, get off his back, he probably is hurt.

The only thing that I am saying is that Brett Favre played with broken fingers. Adam Pardy just last year played a month with a broken foot.

How did he all of a sudden break his finger? He cant practice with the calgary flames since he has been "sent down"

He should just get on a plane and retire and head back to sweeden

I gotta side with the QCers here. As a farm team, they are totally being hung out to dry, and are probably an injury away from sending down Jim Playfair and dressing Ryan McGill to play defense.

To echo the need for Eriksson to join the QC as soon as possible, the game Saturday vs. Des Moines was played with an ECHL defense. Palin and Pelech were not dressed leaving Cole, Spang, Ryan Wilson, Vandermeer and two ECHL dmen to fend for themselves. It was not a pretty sight.

I tried to determine when he injured his finger, but can find nothing.

Anyone who was able to see the pre-season games have any idea??!

That's why I didn't go to Des Moines on Saturday....after watching the game on Friday night, I wasn't sure that my heart could stand it two nights in a row!

Glad you got a chance to see Irving in goal....he's fun to watch.

At this point, I want him in the QC. We need bodies that can skate and play some D!!!

Oh, wait....it's Eriksson..... Well, maybe if he played here, he could get his numbers up!

According to this article from a Las Vegas paper, he retired.

Hey, maybe we could sign him short-term! We are in desperate need of d-men!! Tonight's Flames Forum should be interesting....wonder if we get McGill or Scotty to do the 'splaining.

My question is, what happens if he doesn't report within the mandated 30 days?

EDIT: Oops! Just checked....that rule is for a player who
remains on an NHL roster for 30 days (cumulative) or plays 10 NHL games (cumulative), like Khabibulen. Eriksson is already listed on our roster. So how come he doesn't have to come down here to "heal" (like Lalande and Baldwin) if he's part of our team??

Hey! Maybe the Flames could sign McCarty to a two-way and send him to the QC....

It'd be a body and he knows how to play d. And maybe we could see how many actual big leaguers we could get to actually not report to QC in a season!!!

Ditto. This dog and pony show is getting old. Where the hell is Eriksson?

I just did the calculations. Without Eriksson here, we're currently down 7 guys--Palin, Pelech, Germyn and Cunning on IR, and two others on long-term IR (Lalande and Baldwin).

Last night at Flames Forum, the term that Scotty Allen used to describe the team was decimated.

In their first 11 last year, they were 1-10. So far this season, they're 1-3-1. I 'spose we should be happy for the improvement....but they were hoping to do better so attendance would pick up.

Add John Armstrong to the list of walking wounded as well. That's eight.

I have high hopes for Armstrong as I think he will add the depth on the 2nd/3rd line and really be able to contribute by the end of the season.
