The Barking Frog in Chapparal is great, they have 10.99 steak and prawn dinner on Friday nights which is amazing!

Dixon's is where it's at. Good food, cheap booze, tons of flat panel TV's, booths with TV's in them, NTN and VLT's if you're into that stuff. Great place to watch sports.
I second that. This place has the best pub food in this area.

I'll second the "stay away from D'arby Arms" sentiment. That place sucks.
I third this. I like to hang out at the Darby Arms because some of my friends bartend there...but the food sucks.

Another decent pub close by is the Bull and Finch in Bridlewood, however food and service are both kind of touch and go there. Some nights it's great, others it's very average.
Not a bad place to hang out but nothing else. I personally stay clear of the food here. Service at this place is generally below par.

BP's is... well... BP's. You know exactly what you're getting when you go there. Service in the pub is really good at this one though.
Like you say, BP's is always pretty consistent. The service here is good and it's not a bad place to watch the games at.

Not quite Walking Distance

The Olive Grove has kick-arse pizza and it's located by sportswap kind of in Midnapore. Kind of dingy inside though.
Kind of dingy is putting it mildly. The place inside looks like the type of dive you would find in Forest Lawn. The food there is actually pretty good though. There's live music but it's never great and the crowd is a bit on the older side...Like 40's type of older.

There's a pub by safeway called Mr. Schnapps. Had wings there once and they were great but my brother in-law works there so I kind of sub-consciously avoid that place.
I don't know about the food but from the looks of the place I never get the urge to try their food. Like the Darb, the only reason I ever go there is for the free drinks.

Dixons is a great pub. Coach and Horse is another. Both very close to each other.

There is a pub in Okotoks called the George that has awesome deals for Flames games. The pizza is $5 and the pints are cheap on game days. Lots of TV's and it's definitely worth the 15-20min trip out of town.

Kilt and Kaber (sp?) is great, plus it's a quick trip down 22x so it's not that bad to get to.
Dixon's is fantistic for quality alone. It reaally seems like it is owned by limmerick's from macloed, but the quality is great.

Also I have a close friend that worked at the south Bull & Finch, who hated the place for food/ownership. She now works at, or worked till recently at Darby Arms and said it was great for a younger crowd, and the food wasnt as repulsive as B&F

Dixon's, Dixon's, Dixon's, Dixon's, end of story.

Great food, great environment, great decor, tons of TVs. I was there three times a week when I lived in Calgary.

I miss it so much.
