At the half. Calgary's offense is not clicking at all. Reynolds hasn't run a lot today and most of the rushing yardage by Stamps are Burris. We've been getting a lot of 2 and out so far and if it wasn't for the long ball by Burris to Copeland, you don't even notice the offense at all.
Calgary defense is not good or not bad so far. Pickett are getting some reads out there and throwing the ball well. The 2 QB sack for the Stamps is deceiving because the Stamps hasn't really done a lot of pressuring the QB. I haven't really notice the LBs except for Shannon James pressure earlier. I am just glad the Calgary DBs are answering the bell so far.
Special teams, this is where the Stamps are winning scoring 11 points so far (fumble recovert on the ens zone and 2 safety).
Chris Jones better make some adjustment and maybe, just maybe someone should show him the replay of last week's game where they pressured Pickett a lot and the Argos only scored 4 points.
Safety Wes Lysack went down with the injury. He left in the first quarter and he hasn't come back yet. Howell is now rotating with others playing Lysack's position. Dorsey also went down in the first half. He hasn't been back yet.
Hopefully Burris and company gets the boost on that great catch by Copeland.
The Don's magic is dissappearing. Man, Toronto Argonauts is such in a messy state right now. They have a rookie QB Cody Pickett playing ahead of their starter Kerry Joseph sitting right now. Veteran defensive players are starting to dissappear from their roster and the offense are not clicking. Players are undiscipline doing some extra shove or whatever and get penalties. One of the reason they lost tonight was because of the turnovers that Calgary capitalized. The penalties also helped the Stamps.
In the 2nd half, Calgary defense started to go back to their pressure defense hence Pickett threw for less than 100 yards in the third quarter. Argos are no match to the Stamps especially when the Stamps offense starts clicking in the 2nd half. One thing I am dissapointed was not seeing enough of Joffrey Reynolds running the ball especially in the 1st half. He had 12 carries and 40 yards. It could have a good time to get his rushing yardage up and more.
I am very impressed with some of the Stampeder players. I thought the defensive backfield played well even when their Safety Lysack went down with injuries in the first half. The two Brandons were good and Dwight Anderson was very impressives. The LBs I didn't really noticed much except for Shannon James who I think is the best defensive player tonight along with DE Charleston Hughes.
Overall, it is good enough win for the Stampeders and now take over the #1 position in the West. I think the coaching staff are getting better right now execpt from some minor adjustment I guess. I cannot wait for the next game.
