Wow! That is just like how the Canucks really play! Oh man, EA clearly has increased the realism of the game to unprecedented levels.

in BAP. i got called up to the flames who were a couple of games under .500. i go on a 10 game win streak, and the team moves back into top 3 contention.
GM announces that he wants to "change things up", and trades Aucoin to canuckleheads for michael grabner. grabner is immediately sent to the farm and dustin boyd called up.
iginla is also on the left side on my team and has been moved to the 2nd line as i have been put onto the first line. that's strange.

Does anyone know if you can be injured in BAP? I think it would be pretty funny, in a sadistic way, if you got hurt for a stretch..

not really a funny or crazy story. Sunday morning I am playing my BAP in the playoffs with qc, while waiting for my roommate to get ready to go to softball I play two games, win 2 games and playing another one. Up 2-1 with a minute in the 3rd and got in a fight, so I think wicked I can go get ready and by that time game will be over and we can leave. I come back down and they had tied it up, Im playing in OT and we have to leave so I just pause the game, put it back to regular tv and leave.
Come home and the XBOX is turned off!!!! Someone just saw it on and turned it off, I didnt save the two games I had played and won. I replay one yesterday and we lose in ot.

The flames traded Daymond Langkow for Mikhail Grabovski...who leaves as a free agent in the offseason.
Oh well, the Dion dominated in the playoffs (I'm the Dion) and we won the cup.
Still, sucktitude.
Also, Kurtis Foster was traded for Ovechkin.

I had a hell of a laugh last night over this one.
Dynasty with Flames, against Canucks, one of the Sedins takes a slapshot from the blueline, puck bounces off Kipper and he pounces on it, Sedin comes in and poke checks his face and the puck slips through his legs and in...that isn't the funny story, they credit the goal to Sedin and the cutscene shows Kipper and two other Canucks players tapping each other on the helmet and group hugging (as if Kipper scored). I kid you not I wish Live wasn't down I would have uploaded it.. it looked stupid.

A couple things:
Nilson got traded 2 games in to the Leafs for Hagman.
My weird story is tonight...went to BAP, wanted to try the practice shooting. Decided to back out after the first screen which lets you pick shooting accuracy etc (I didn't start) and then went to the next game in the season. Wouldn't you know it...the targets and the radar gun were on the ice as the game started, at one end.
I assisted a Hagman goal on that shift, and saved the replay, hoping to show it here.
Now, I uploaded it...but where did it go? I realized I had to create an EA Sportsworld account...did that, but couldn't link "brownah" (which is my PS3 name) as my online persona there, saying it was already taken...wtf?
I never registered on the EA site formally before, and haven't changed login on PS3 or NHL 09. I discarded any emails that got sent from Playstation that may have gotten sent when I first used NHL 09 and setup the online portion....
Anyways, emailed EA support, but anyone have an idea of why I can't link my PS3 user to my online persona..or where it went??

I traded Nilson and Yelle (Who shouldn't even be on the roster!) in my dynasty for Bouwmeester...
First game, Bouwmeester gets two goals....one because he fired a slapper which trickles in. The other he fires a slapper, the defenseman in front of the goalie grabs the rebound, and then Iginla hits him...causing the puck to go five-hole....unassisted goal for Bouwmeester!
I couldn't get a hat trick though

So disapointed. The computer won't let you fight more then 3 times. I figured I'd get the boot after the third one, but nope, it just won't let you fight again

I had this happen a couple of days ago, and finally remembered to upload it. I'm clearing the puck with a slapper while on the PK...Craig Anderson, give your head a shake.

This guy soft dumps the puck from his own zone. My goalie stops it deep in his crease, and as I try to get the puck with a d man, I knock it into the net!

In my BAP mode, Calgary traded Rhett Warner for Andrei Markov. Obviously Bob Gainey isn't too bright in NHL09.
Also another time the goalie was sprawled and I had a wide open net to shoot at. I let the shot go and Phaneuf, for seemingly no reason at all, comes out of the corner, skates right in front of the net and blocks my shot. I was pissed...

for whatever reason...
Curtis McElhinney has started the playoffs in my BAP, and in the first two games recorded 2 consecutive shutouts
also Alexander Ovechkin now plays in Nashville, it caught me off gaurd when I saw it, no idea who he was traded for as I dont pay that much attention to the league transactions. The flames stood pat in my BAP, with the only transactoin being calling me up from the minors after 10 games
