It's possible that might be the highlight of the season, much like the funniest thing last year was the "i ran so far" video.

Was it me, or was Tina Fey's accent almost Fargo-esque? I haven't listened to Palin much to know if it's accurate.

Her accent was perfect...as were the mannerisms! I'm not convinced it was Tina...maybe Palin made a guest appearance?

I think Tina Fey did a good job, but the accent did sound more like Minnesota than Alaska. A little over the top, but for satire, I think that's OK.

After all these years, how can SNL not have anyone on cast who can get Hillary's preachy voice, facial expressions and mannerisms right?

Then it was hoe good Norm Macdonald was and how Tina Fey sucked. And how good Jimmy Fallon was but Amy Poehler sucked, and now that Amy Poehler has announced she is leaving, she is now, "The last funny one".

Well, I'm sure SNL has its ups and downs, but as time passes you will forget the crappy stuff and remember the funny stuff, and this season will be funny, too. Enjoy the funny stuff, forget the junk, and look forward to next week, even if your favourite isn't on the show anymore.

Edit: BBS made the point a wee bit more succinctly.
My thoughts exactly.

People have selective memory around SNL. It was no better in the 1970s than it is now. About 80% of the skits sucked then, same as now. We tend to remember the 20% of the skits that were actually good.

I think it is still worth watching now for the 20% that is funny, and for the musical guests. I think there are some very talented people of the present cast - Poehler, Sandberg, Wiig.

If Mccain wins the election Tina Fey is going to have to be doing a sketch a week.
