My thoughts exactly.
People have selective memory around SNL. It was no better in the 1970s than it is now. About 80% of the skits sucked then, same as now. We tend to remember the 20% of the skits that were actually good.
I think it is still worth watching now for the 20% that is funny, and for the musical guests. I think there are some very talented people of the present cast - Poehler, Sandberg, Wiig.
