We had a dog that would do the same thing on his belly. He'd wait for you to look away then scuffle up a few inches, and when you looked back at him, he'd put his head down and close his eyes like he had been sleeping all along. Then when he got a foot in front of you, he do this massive leap onto your lap, which was painful because he was a 70 pound ridgeback. It was just a big game to him. He would try not to wag his tail when he was fake sleeping, but it would be twitching like crazy.

That vid was awesome. By the time it got to the chair I was laughing pretty hard. Pets are the best.

My cats don't do that but they like to sleep in any box/bag or anything resembling such. I was at my buddies playing Rockband on friday and I noticed that his cats did the same thing.

that's awesome.

I have the fattest, laziest cat ever. I swear he sits on the couch with his hands in pants all day and watches tv. Such a dude.

(just a note. My cat actually doesn't wear pants)

My cat does that and likes to sneak attack me in the kitchen, usually if I am carrying something hot like a coffee or tea. Surprisingly she is very gentle and patient with my 2 year old son.

I think I have the fattest laziest cat ever! I swear she sleeps 22 out of every 24 hours. How big is your cat, mine is about 17.5 lbs.

My cats do the same thing. Love sleeping in boxes. My newest cat keeps trying to suck on your earlobes when you are sleeping and it's really weird. I've had cats all my life and I've never had a cat who did that before.

So neat to see that, shows you the power of what cats descended from. Just increase the size of the cat by 500 pounds and it goes from cute to OMG RUN.

EXACTLY. I live with one now (not mine) and although it's grown on me a bit I watch it like a hawk. I swear that thing's gonna claw my face off one day or something.

This cat does it, he also plays hide-and-seek and tag. It's a riot. I love cats, and I also agree they are pure evil too, but that's why they are so fun. Pure evil that will ignore you until you are sick/down, then comfort you until you feel better.

Agreed. I trust a cat slightly more then I trust a pet Ferret. Neither are exactly thrilled to be pets, neither need or want your attention most of the time, and both would bite or claw your face without notice.

Cats will only toy with you if they know you're scared of them killing you in your sleep, they like to play with their food.

If you've resigned your life to being subject to their whims, they actually leave you alone.

And they know if you're just pretending to being resigned.

Cats rule.

my dad and step-mom's cat does that, it can happen when they're weaned too early as a kitten. and it is VERY weird when you wake up to a cat laying on your chest sucking on your earlobe and purring away

I can't stop watching this video, despite the fact that I am very likely to have a nightmare based on it.
