Virgin or not, it should be an easy transition for her from attention whore to actual whore. Personally, I don't buy it: the women's studies background and claims of empowerment, her desire to be a marriage councellor, the story about the stepfather running off with her loan money, the pseudonym when it should be fairly easy for people to figure out her real name if her story is true, it all seems way too crafted, the fact that she'll chose the bidder she wants, not necessarily the highest bidder. She may be a virgin, but I highly doubt the whole story is true.
And didn't someone else already do this a couple years ago (on a website, not on the radio) and get several thousand from Christian groups who didn't want to see her lose her virginity?

Wow. I can't even comprehend. I mean, what if it sucks? What if he's an abomination? So many factors...

Can you provide proof that you are actually a virgin? Maybe just put up some pics of yourself....
As for this story, I am not entirely sure that I buy it either. If it is true though, it is quite sad.

She says in one of the articles that it won't just be the highest bidder, she'll pick a guy who has a high bid and is nice and has other personality traits that she likes (presumably physical attractiveness, though she doesn't state that, probably because they're counting on the hideously ugly guys to help drive up the price).

I applaud this young woman for trying to pay for school. The truth is men pay for sex all the time through drinks, meals, trips, rings, mortgages, min vans et-al. At least with this lady the winner of the auction will get her without wasting time trying to seduce her by spending his time and money. I would argue that this is the most honest relationship either one will experience. A lot of married couples will tell you that love making decreases with time. For those who would argue that this isn't romantic, please, if it were just about love then why does it come down to money when its time to divorce?

She's ruining a perfectly good joke!
What's the difference between love and lust?
Lust never cost more than $200.

you don't pay a hooker for the sex, you pay her for going away afterward.

That's the jackpot. Imagine the sort of child support payments you could get from the sort of guy who has this sort of coin; realistically, hundreds of thousands a year.

"The girl, who already has a bachelor's degree in women's studies at Sacramento State, wants to study further for a master's in marriage and family therapy. "
I wonder what her Women's Studies prof would think of this stunt.

Howard Stern was livid about this on Tuesday. He is only interviewing the girl, not auctioning her off. This is pasted from the Howard Stern website. (I would post the link but there is some racey stuff on there).
HOWARD IS NOT AUCTIONING A VIRGIN
Howard noted that the NY Daily News had picked up news of Dennis Hof's appearance on today's show, but they got the story all wrong: “I really want to tell Dennis to go home...I gotta get out of the Dennis Hof business.” Howard explained that he didn't want to be involved in the auction for the virginity of Dennis Hof's Bunny Ranch girls, he simply wanted to talk to them about how and why someone would do such a thing, and Dennis spun it like Howard was “kicking off” the auction.
Howard told Gary to cancel Dennis and the girls' appearance: “I'm only interviewing the girl...They've got it very different in the newspaper.” Gary came in to defend Dennis, saying he was just trying to get publicity for his appearance like anyone else would. After hearing that Dennis and the girls had already flown in and were on their way, Howard begrudgingly allowed Gary to keep the segment on the schedule.
