Just be thankful you don't have to spend every day with Don, Joanne and The Coach.

^^ they are still alive?
I say if its possible to listen to an Ipod (or something of the sort) its a good. Nobody likes the guy at work who complains about the radio station. Or just embrace it. As a guy who listens to mainly classic and 90s rock (I love Fuel 90.3) I dont mind a little JT in my ear now and again...gets me dancing.

As I mentioned before in a thread before the Hottie Draft.. my office cut out all music (individual or shared). But lately I've gotten them to lighten it a bit and some are going back to iPods provide their work is good.
I would never ever have a shared radio because everyone likes different music.
Sharing is a synonym for failure.

Ugh, place I used to work used to have Lite 96 turned up so the entire place could hear it. Energy 101 would have been a blessing in disguise back then.
I went and got myself an iPod, probably the best thing I've ever bought for myself.

If I ever had a job that forced me to listen to any radio station ... FM, AM or whatever ... I'd quit my job. Fortunately I'm my own boss and listen to my own music all day rather than the drivel that's broadcast on commercial radio stations.

Meh, I just tune out the music at work. The guys on the floor like Q107..probably my least favorite station out there. But if I'm working, I barely notice it playing at all

I've got an Ipod and even a tiny little radio. My issue with that would be listening to music I like in one ear and energy 101 in the other ear. I definitely could get away with one earphone, but there's no way I would get away with having both in the ears.
I'm going to try next week and see how it goes.
And to all the people who say 'suck it up', 'get over it' etc, You are lucky to not have this issue. For whatever reason, listening to music I like makes me a good employee, being forced to listen to music I hate makes me suck at those working tasks. I'm sure a psychologist has done a report on this at some point

Yeah, and when you do put in both earphones that is when everybody will want to talk to you. People suck.

I'm trying to figure out how not having this issue makes me "lucky."
You are lucky to work somewhere that they play the radio while you work.

True, I suppose bad music is somewhat better than no music at all. I guess I just had it too good before.

I spent a few years working nightshift with Safeway and was forced to listen to Rap/Crap music as the majority always ruled. Mysteriously the plug kept getting pulled from the stereo and one time it disappeared The floor cleaning crew ended up getting the blame

File a complaint with a human rights group claiming that you're personal freedoms are being violated, a la sikh police officers and hats/turbans. All you need to do is say you are a hardcore christian and Energy 101's sinner music is harmful to you.
What is more scary is that your complaint would be about on par with the validity of most of the crap people bring before human rights commisions and such. Stupid Charter.

I'd slowly go insane having to listen to music that I don't like all day (much like Junky did at the slo-pitch campout).

no it isn't. Silence would be better than most radio stations here.

I once worked at a place where the three other people in the room were 40 year old chainsmokers who would only listen to Country 105. I was Chinese and 19 years old.
count yourselves lucky you get energy.
The only good song I ever heard was this and I started to tear at work ahahaha. The video is crap though. Better left to the imagination.

P.S. Radio is garbage is Calgary. The only station that consistently surprises me is Fuel 90.3 (90s alternative, modern indie rock, and then some rare 80s new wave out the blue)...and 88.1 I think. I have no idea what station that is. It's just bizarro random. Most of the time really good obscure hip hop R&B...but it's like the theme changes every 3 songs, it'll go from hardcore rap to ukranian polka or something.
I goto 1.fm if I want internet radio somewhere. I can't listen to it because I think I sabotaged my own computer and disconnected the soundcard once a long time ago when I had my own office. I don't recall why I did that. Now I can't do it anymore since it's an open workspace and people will wonder why I am opening my computer case and playing with parts inside.

What is needed here is some kind of frequency jammer. I won't link you plans for one, 'cause using it would be illegal, but there is sometimes you have to weigh your options - prison or more Timbalake. I know which one I would prefer.
