Directly quoted from that thread:

Update:
An RCMP member came and took all the information i had gathered.
All three names of the people that used the laptop (during it's journey to the darkside ) along with copys of each of their facebook profile pages, which included the high schools that they attended.
Edit: I also included the video screenshots
The RCMP officer said that he would try to find them and visit them tonight and get the laptop back.
He said that it shouldn't be a problem because with their schools listed, there will be record of their address.
There will be no charges laid(if they return the laptop), but he said that he would give them a warning and talk to their parents.

He's going to call me later, wether or not they find them.

I'm heading out so I'll update you guys later as to what the popo comes back with. (hopefully laptop so I can post some of those video's that he made.
Quote:
QUICK CELL PHONE UPDATE: the laptop is back at mission control!
RCMP just dropped it off. I'm not home yet so I'm not sure whether the videos are on it yet.
I'll update from home in a bit...
And that's pretty much it.

The first 9 pages or so were priceless, had me laughing pretty hard! Too bad it's over.

Haha! Stupid West Van wanna-be gangsters!

You have to register now, but myself and a coworker both did that and read the whole thing this morning... well worth the 2 minutes it takes to register.

Everyone has a throw away hotmail or gmail just to sign up for things like this and not care about spam right?

ahhh logmein ... a god-send for those conversations you have with your parents when they call you for computer help ("the thing is doing something but I don't know what it is. I'm just going to click this thing, is that ok?").

I signed up with my hotmail account but the confirmation hasn't arrived yet.

I signed up hours ago and still no confirmation e-mail. If I try to create another account on a different machine it recognizes the username and e-mail address but won't send me the info I need to login.

Too bad. I use logmein and I was really hoping to read that.

No problem, and you're welcome...

As much as I'm truly glad the guy got his laptop back, it's too bad there wasn't a more epic ending to that great story

Yes, I have a hotmail throw-away address also, but was just wondering if it's worth registering. Is this even still available for viewing?
