They've never been the same since John Bonham died.

Haha, very funny. But don't even compare Wolfmother to Led Zepp.

That said, I try to avoid talking about my favorite music and bands on CP because you know that for every person you find that likes the same music you do, that are 100 people out there that absolutely hate it and think it's trite garbage that's either so indie they are pathetic try-hards or too popular with the masses to be any good...or just plain old talentless, tasteless bad music.

Just thought I would dredge this up and see if anyone else has heard the new single (New Moon Rising)? Looks like the album is due out on October 13th.

I'm surprised that this is a band that people really care about. I admit, I haven't heard more than the song or 2 that are on the radio once in a while, but it never struck me as anything special. They kind of reminded me of a watered down, more radio-friendly version of Fu Manchu.

Am I missing out on something good?

I like them. They are just a good, solid rock band. Whats not to like?

hmm, mainly why there seemed to be so many posts about them on this forum and none about bands that I liked

They all grow on trees if your signed to a major and in a big music city (LA, Nashville, NY). Getting the right ones can be trickier.

Glad to see this thread has been bumped.

First of all, I don't know whats not to like about wolfmother. Personally, I think they are one of the best bands to come out since the 70s, but it seems like I'm one of the only people that think that. Either way, they are probably my favourite band out there right now.

As for their new single, i must say, it is the first Wolfmother song I have ever heard that I didnt' love. It's an okay song... but nothing special like the rest of their stuff. Can't wait for their new album though. October is going to be a great month, with wolfmother, them crooked vultures, and hockey season starting.

I think you would like The Dead Weather - Horehound - awesome 70's style sleaze.

They are the music guest on Friday's Conan rerun.

I think that sums up my feelings on the single as well. I am still thinking that the new album will be awesome, but I was a little disappointed with New Moon when I first heard it.

Since this was bumped a week ago, I don't feel so bad. Saw them in concert last night and it was really really good. Great live band and boy that guy can sing. They really know how to rock.
