I didn't know that about the WA State Sales Tax. Interesting if I ever go on a cross-border shopping trip to Spokane. Here's the official info on it: http://dor.wa.gov/Content/GetAFormOr...dentSales.aspx

It's only for the purchase of goods that will be used outside the state (food, gas, hotel rooms, etc don't qualify), and only for residents of states or provinces with a local sales tax below 3% (I'm not sure why the eastern provinces are eligible). For that reason, Alberta and Montana residents qualify, but BC doesn't.

I was out there for a couple days this last week, and we also made it to the Mariners game. We caught the Rays, and afterwards in the store there was another guy from Calgary in there, wondering if it was you?

^^^ I don't think it was me, it might have been my brother, and we were in the store before the game started. Was it the Thursday game?

We also saw a little kid walking with his parents downtown near Pike Place market. He was wearing a flames cap. I said "i like your cap", but I dont think any of them heard me.

I also found that jerseys are cheaper down there, especially football. In one sports store along the piers, they were selling old Shaun Alexander seahawks jerseys for 35, regular 80. I saw a Favre jersey so i thought I would ask the clerk if he would give me a discount because of Favre's trade that morning. He didn't bite, dangit. Also disappointed I didnt find any "vintage" Sonics gear, im not a huge b-ball fan but it would still have been neat to have.

Yep, it was the Thursday game! And the main thing I remember was that the guy said he wouldn't cheer for the Flames while they had Bertuzzi, so I don't know how your bro feels about Bert, but... yah.

And we headed to Pike a couple times, my little brother included, but he didn't have his Flames hat while we were in Seattle. Cool to know there seemed to be more Calgarians down there than I realized :P

There was a great little Fish and Chips joint down on the pier and was cheap too. Sorry, I cant remember the name but they were offering a 4 piece fish and chips, which of course I went for!

Go to Pikes, Discovery Park, take the Duck tour, and go to the premium outlets about 45 minutes north of Seattle if you are planning to do some shopping down there. There is also the Super mall in Auburn but the premium outlets are much better....Lot's of great day hikes in the area also! Safeco is an awesome place to watch a ball game! Cheap too as the whole family could go for under $100 (I think it was a promo night or something)....Regardless it is a great city to visit with something for everyone!
