I don't think that inflation is anywhere near 5% on things, and thankfully so! Electronics, clothing, cars and shelter are all dropping in price.

Car insurance here in Alberta should be a public company. No other industry gets a captive market that has to buy their product by law. With the tinkering with the accounting principles to produce profits or lack thereof as it suits them you just can't trust that consumers are really getting the best coverage for the best price.
