University of Utah should be able to make some noise this year.

BYU and potentially Utah are the hot picks for the annual BCS Buster. Fresno State could easily do some damage as well, returning pretty much their entire offense.

Mitch Mustain is a pretty nice choice to go to as a back-up as well.

Irish are still at least another year away from being competitive, but there's alot to like with the recruiting classes Weis has been able to bring in, especially this year, pulling in the #2 ranked recruiting class despite coming off a 3-9 season. After alot of offence-heavy recruiting classes his first three years, Weis finally seemed to focus on D, especially at linebacker. There's some serious studs coming to South Bend.

Knoxville? who playes there? when was the last time they beat Florida? I hate the vols. LSU, GAWGA, FSU, and Miami.

04, the second last time UF was there.
What's not to love? Best college song in the country, BCS championship and should improve on a good comeback season last year.

pfft. that'd be dumb, then they wouldn't be able to get the sweet schedule that they get every year against the big programs. there's something to be said for being a traditional power and an independent. though this year does seem to be a slightly weaker schedule.

not what i was getting at. i remember a couple years ago, the finished against USC and LSU. typically the play against 4 or more ranked opponents. And i do know perdue has been ranked in several years recently. not saying that they have the toughest sched, but typically solid.

the schedule has absolutely nothing to do about it. The Irish are just greedy s who want their own TV deal that they do not have to share with the rest of a conference.

I agree about the SEC killing itself off this year, there are quite a few top 25 teams in there, moreso than most years. The Big XII should have an off year, as should the PAC10, which will certainly help USC.
I'll say USC over OSU as the Buckeyes complete the hat trick.
|
Why would the Big 12 have an off year? Kansas, Mizzou, UT, OU, and Tech are all pretty stacked and are all in the top 15. The only way they have an off year is if they cannibalize themselves.

From a top 25 perspective Big XII looks good, from a top 2 perspecctive they don't to me ... but it's August, so who knows.

There's nothing to be said for being an independant unless you are a service academy.
What is so special about ND? Other than their record of of consecutive years of playing like a high school team at any and all bowl games they are awarded.
ND is one of those teams you either love or hate, I'm the later. There is nothing about them that should entitle them to have their own TV deal and free reighn over their entire schedule.

I think OU is going to be competitive for the Championship and it kills me to say it as a Longhorn alum.

Easily the second best conference this year. No question IMO. Nebraska should be improved too. Very, very young last year.
