I believe it was traced to a particular milkshake(marshmellow??), but the origin was actually a sick employee.

I find it amazing that a guy who ran one of the most successful fast food franchises specializing in burgers and milkshakes lived this long

The private side, the man who gave away food to countless charities, was less well known.

Pieters never wanted anyone to know that every Christmas for decades he made 4,000 burgers and gave them to needy children attending an annual firefighters' fundraiser.

He and his wife donated outside the business, too, sponsoring dozens of children in Uganda, Ukraine, Sudan, Brazil and Bosnia.

"It was always anonymous," Aubry said. "I think it's time people realized what he did."
