try Jumpingpound/Cox Hill for mtn bike trail. I love Big Elbow, but this ride knocks the socks off it. The climbing is very difficult, but the rewards are sweet.

Not my picture, but this is when you get up top:

The BNP Pass doesn't give you free camping. You have to have the pass to stop in the park and then pay the site & fire fees on top of that.

I think he means if you frequent the park enough, the annual pass is well worth getting and cheaper then paying seperately for each visit.

Thanks that's what I figured.
I have had a National Park pass for the last decade but this is the first time ever that I will be camping within their borders.

It would be a nice surprise however if the Campsite included the park admission for my friend joining us. Thats an expensive weekend.

No shared sites.
$40 a night for a campsite
$20 per day for a pass
Thats a $120 dollars before firewood.

Bump

I'm looking for a spot somewhere in the Bragg Creek area that has RV hook ups, anyone know of any out there? I'm keen on doing some biking this weekend but I'd like to have my shower available in my RV.

We went to Indian Graves this past weekend and were surprised to find equestrian sites in the lower loop there. I'd go back to Indian Graves. It was nice and quiet, and lots of good hiking around. Also, no real bear problems apparently.

No showers there though. So if you're tenting it gets a little gross after a couple days (depends how hardcore of a camper you are I guess)!!

Little Bow Provincial Park/Traverse Reservoir. Nice little camping area and the lake has pretty good fishing. But if you want the real camping experience there's a lake a few hours north of Edmonton called Lake Wabasca (sp) Best camping I have ever done.

Bump again.

We're looking at doing some camping this summer but we now have a dog. Does anyone know of any dog friendly camp sites within a couple hours of Calgary? Preferably with a lake/pond/river, but not necessary.

I've never really been to any non-dog friendly ones! But I guess it depends how well behaved your dog is? As long as you keep your dog on your own site, clean up it's mess, and don't let it bark too much, we've never had any problems with our two dogs.

We've enjoyed Indian Graves, Jarvis Bay, and Mount Kidd with our dogs if that helps you at all.

^^ Thanks a lot. I was just wondering because a lot of the websites that I've looked at haven't specifically mentioned if pets were allowed or not. Our dog is quite small and doesn't bark a lot at home. That being said she's never been out of the city. So we'll see!

Hey we're looking for a site kinda like McLean Creek but without the need for 4x4's... does anyone know a free site like this where there are some hiking trails and stuff?
