Got a massive sunburn on my face, head, neck and arms while working on friday and as a result, was really sick Friday night. Woke up at 2am to the neighbor's teenage daughter being her disrespectful self and talking and laughing really loudly with a couple of her friends in the back yard.
Woke up again at 8:00am as my wife's aunt dropped by, then worked like a dog all day finally cleaning up my yard (front & back) for the year. May have worsened my sunburn on my neck and arms, but the yard looks fataing awesome and I wasn't sick so NOW I'm drunk!

Congratulations!!
I cycled around the Glenmore Reservoir a couple of times this weekend. On super hot days like today, there's always a lot of good scenery out and about.
Do NOT entrust your seven year old son with duties of applying sunscreen to your back. I thought my little guy did a great job until I realized I had a puck-sized sunburn right between my shoulder blades.

Hm .. some gardening .. got groceries for the next few weeks .. watered the lawns .. traded in some games at EB ($190!!) .. got some blinds to put up in my son's room and the other room upstairs ...
Not terribly exciting, but I'm ... about 4% through my long weekend which ends on August 25.

Sitting outside on my patio, using the laptop to play tunes while reading a book and slowly but surely getting drunker by the hour.
I have Euro Cup Final to forget.

Bought a pizza from Pizza Hut on Friday night. Bit into something that looks like a chunk of bone or a rock, cracking a tooth in half. Not the way I wanted to start the weekend. And it's been rainy here in Ottawa all weekend long, so no swimming and lounging by the pool.
As for whether it is a long weekend, I believe it was George Carlin that said that national holidays should be on Wednesdays so we could have 9-day weekends.

Grandmother died, broke up with the gf. Getting over a serious hospital visit from 3 weeks ago.
Spent most of the weekend after the gf argument just trying to numb myself. You know, the healthy way... Booze and constant distractions...
Weekends been swell!

Celebrated Square Root Day
|
A few of us went to have a late night fire last night, and I ended up hitting an Owl, it flew right in front of my car while I was doing 150. We drove really far out of the city, until we were literally in the middle of nowhere. We were getting really drunk when we thought we heard ducks quacking off in the distance, then it sounded like religous chanting, then we realized it was people singing '99 bbottles of beer on the wall'. Then we saw their flashlights coming for us, and found out it was a bunch of people that were celebrating their friends wedding, and they had also picked a really remote place to get drunk. It was pretty trippy hearing them coming though.
Then today I'll finsish off the weekend with a round of golf, with a case of beer stuffed stragically throughout my golf bag, and that will be about 30 beer consumed in a matter of 16 hours....and for the beer snobs in the crowd, yes it was Kokanee, and no, it didn't taste like piss, it tasted like beer.
Now I'm off to get a few hours of sleep in before Golf. I can hear the birds chirping so it must be morning.

Almost died on an impromto rafting trip down the Little Red Deer River. A group of us floated down in a couple of dinhgys and we smoked a tree that was outstretched horizontally over a fast-moving section of the river. The six people that were on my raft had to hug the tree to avoid being swept downstream by the current. After we recovered from this we resumed floating down the river. It was much calmer downstream and we learned after 4 hours of floating that the person who picked out our launch point had no idea how long it would take to reach our campground. 8:30PM rolled around and we were wondering if we would have to make land fall and build a fire and lean-to shelters for the night. All of a sudden a clearing in the woods gave way to a children's summer camp and we reached shore and paid a guy $50 to drive us to our camp site 15 mins away. A lot of fun was had by all!
