So North Korea isn't as scary as we in the west make it out to be, I'm sure the same can be said of Iran since we know IF they got nuclear capability Israel would be pre-emptive to stop that.

The problem with Kim Jong Il is that he has shown in the past that he is willing to sell arms and technology to anyone. He has based his economy on either selling weapons or extorting money and resources from countries that don't want him selling weapons.

Nuclear weapons would be different.
I guess it all depends on whether or not he is suicidal.

What a horrible game, but it's fun launching nukes at the UK or some favoured country, and seeing nukes from virtually everywhere come flying towards you.

That game was such a let down for me. It made no sense, and it was way to easy to get into a nuclear exchange.

I don't think he's suicidal, but I do think that he thinks he is invincible.

There is a vanishingly small chance of there being any kind of world-wide nuclear war, but just be thankful that back in the days when Mao ran China that their nuclear arsenal was made up of short/medium range rockets with unreliable warheads. His theory was that China could "afford" to lose 500-600 million people if it came down to such a war, so he kept nuclear research prioritized in the hope that he could use it to rule over the ashes of the rest of the world.
Nowadays China's rulers are evil, but at least they aren't crazy evil.

The 'mad men' of other countries are just scapegoats and propaganda ballooned boogymen compared to our real threats.
Not to say they don't need to be dealt with, negotiated with and watched closely. But as of now, or the forseeable future, they have no real power or threat over us or our lifestyle. And even if they did, it's more likely to become a stalemate like the cold war, then an actual conflagration.
The big problems, as been stated arleady, are upcoming fuel and food shortages, water, overpopulation, and climate change.
But we can't make anyone else responsible for those so lets all hate on other nations for a while.

Really? I enjoyed it, I incited wars between countries and then when they were fighting I would slip my forces into their disputed / war-torn territories and annex them. I was able to turn the entire Orient and SE Asia into Somalian territory.
The fun part IS having the nuclear launches (even better when a country does it to you, because the whole world gets made at them), and then rebuilding from there... it's a challenge!
I also liked the opportunity to buy / create so many different types of military units... felt like you were actually a general in an army. I loved being a rogue nation (ie. North Korea) and then developing my own battalion of Russian-purchased tanks / North Korean-created artillery units and ships.
